Why does everyone care so much about Rust?

As far as i'm concerned, it seems like just another stupid survival game with guns incorporated into it, wowzers. Big whoop. Oh, except you can build stuff, how amazing. I really don't get why everyone is so interested in that game. I honestly just think it's so they can stay current with the next fps title everyone seems to be playing or something.

I really just don't care about it. Like if there was a lot of The Forest hype going on in these forums or something, I can see that. The building mechanics in that game are neat and the AI seems like it's going to be badass, I have no interest in the forest, but if I saw tons of people pumping it up. I could see why. So seriously, why does everyone care about Rust. It seems so lame and like another typical generic idea.

it just seems survival game are easy to make for early access and than abandon once you cash it. not interested in any of them till they are finished

It got the same hype as DayZ..

They all have the same things to do in a nutshell:

  • Survive

  • Loot stuff

  • Kill people or get shot

  • Revive and Repeat

One of the main reasons I never bother about them

seriously, why is that even interesting. When I bought Nether to give one of those stupid games a shot. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. A lot actually. But that's because crawling around the city and delivering packages and exploring the landscapes was fun. Though i'm not enjoying it as much cause on a lower-tier computer I cannot see the skyboxs shown in the videos. It's just always fog to me.

I'm pretty much feeling done already though, i'll probably get another 25 hours, write a not recommended review and move on.

becuse people like it?
there's no difference between this and why people like skyrim, cod or any other game. if you don't like it, it's your own taste. noone is forcing you to like it, but why would you now get angry/mad/whatever if someone else like it?
