I don't have any other pc. I just have my laptop. As far as i know you can't trade on mobile. Some friends told me that you can only accept incoming trade offers on mobile.
Market and trading restrictions apply to different payment method and accessing from a new computer.
After i format my laptop steam recognizes it as a new device. That's what i'm trying to fix. How to let steam recognize my laptop. A guy said ssfn files but does it really work? Do you know about it?
I heard that hackers use ssfn files to steal accounts.

When you login from a new "anything" (browser, computer, etc) it asks for a code which will be sent via email. You enter that code, and then you choose wheter steam should save your new(from whatever you logged) thingy and if yes, give it a name so it will be easier to recognize. And you can trade from mobile, just use the browser and not the app.(make sure the adress is www. and not m.)

While it is true, after I re installed my laptop I didn't have access to Trade, nor to Trade offers through the client. Thing is, I could somehow do Trade offers from Chrome...

I've heard that all you need to backup is the ssfn... file. However, I did try that in the past and it didn't work :(

There are 2 files in steam folder. Their names both start with ssfn and the rest of the name is full of numbers.
Are you certain that this works? If it doesn't my keys will be useless for buying games. I don't have any wallet for the sale. :(

You can try using your browser if you set up Sync for Firefox, or any other "trusted" devices. Other than that nah not really :P

Back up your cookies. The steammachineauth... one should be enough, but save your whole browser profile just in case.

I went to this location. C:\Users\Korialstrasz\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\nikc06ov.default
There are some cookies files there. I also checked Mozilla and Microsoft folders in Appdata\Local and Appdata\LocalLow.
Did i check the right folder? Are there any other cookies files? Didn' do it before so don't exactly know what to do. :)

all your machine info is stored in cookies, so backing up browser and steam folders should do the tirck. If you don't wanna risk it failing, just make a drive image copy with clonezilla, that way, if all else fails you cna still go back to status quo (with the messed up win8.1 that is).

Hi everyone. I just formatted my old laptop and installed Windows 8.1 3 weeks ago. My laptop couldn't handle windows 8.1. It freezes alot, ram usage is always above %90. I'll install windows 7 ultimate again.
Here is my question. Summer sale will begin on 19th june. If i format my laptop now, i won't be able to use market or trade for 7 days. Is there any files or ways that i can backup and let steam recognize my laptop after format? I can't wait for 7 days or i'll miss the summer sale. Thanks for your help.
SOLUTION
Thank you everyone for helping me. I solved the situation with your help. Now i can trade and use market both from steam and firefox browser.
I use firefox sync but i don't know if that helped. I made backups for firefox cookies and ssfn files for steam.
C:Users>Korialstrasz>AppData>Roaming>Mozilla>Firefox>Profiles>...default There are 3 files with name "cookies" I made backup for these files.
In steam folder there are 2 ssfn files. Their names start with ssfn. After i format my laptop i replaced cookies and ssfn files and that's it.
Now i can use market and trading from browser and steam. If you want to format your pc and don't want to miss summer sale, you can do the same. :)
