Yay and meh at the same time.
It was a guaranteed win, 14k entries, 25k copies to win.
First not guaranteed win? WOOHOO! And then I found out how shit the community is and how shit the game is (DoTA 2...)

My first time, I won too quickly and we had to wait a while until I could win again.

My first win was Empire: Total war. Feels good man :D

One entry, mine (small group, DLC, short giveaway during late night hours). Felt good though, I may have peed a little.

It was meh. I only entered because I saw that it was my friend doing it and thought we'd get a little giggle out of my first win being from him. & we did. :P

First win was Serious Sam HD the First Encounter and I had only been a member for 1 week (still only 3 weeks). I was very surprised just because of the little amount of time it took to get a win. And there were only 443 entries :)

I won my first game about a month or two after joining. Well, it was a bundle. The Humble Indie Bundle 3.
It was pretty cool, I think. Despite the fact that the only good game on it is VVVVVV. (Well, Crayon Physics is good too but I barely got any playtime out of it.)
EDIT: Public, 863 entries. I don't consider myself lucky.

I won a couple days after joining. It was awesome. The game was Cities in Motion. Looked fun. My laptop won't run it right though, so I got disappointed. It was an emotional roller coaster of a day.

I've had so many of those times. Like with Just Cause 2 and Natural Selection 2... and I bought Borderlands GOTY 2 years ago about a week or two after joining Steam only to find that my computer was shit and I couldn't run it at all.

I've started just doing it simply because they are games that I want to play, so this way I have them for when I actually have a rig I can play on

My first win was Sleeping Dogs. I entered many giveaways for it. The giveaway had 10 copies up and at the time of end had 6,166 entries. Was very excited to see that Steamgifts actually works (signed up a year ago or so, only started entering giveaways the past couple months). Liked the game so much I picked up all the DLC's during the Steam sales.

I got the Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY and when I got it, I felt so excited and that was so long ago now.

I joined a bunch of DOTA2 GAs because SG was flooded with them. I wanted to clear it out of the giveaway list by owning it because I don't think SG+ existed (or at least I didn't know of it). Finally, I won one. The guy didn't give me anything though. Pretty weak first win.

Just a few days ago I won a group giveaway for Crusader Kings II. I was so excited. I'm really not into that type of game though, so it's still sitting in my gift inventory. I'm debating if I should give it away or trade it.

I remember the first time I won my first giveaway on steamgifts. My blood ran cold and my body felt slightly numb when I found out I won something XD
What was your first win like?
