You could check out Konmari and the Magic of Tidying.It has an interesting take on what to do with all the "cluttering" stuff.
Next to the "Don't Buy Stuff You Don't Need" Rule (which does not count for steam games). Less is more :D

I use this rule constanty. But more you live more garbage you have :) Some of this garbage was very usefull to me back in tha day.

Yeah I know what you mean. I still have music cd's, but part for the nostalgia ><.
And I love the konmari book, but there's also plenty of free pinterest images that will basically tell you how it works. :)

I like "if you won't use it in next 1 - 2 year and it cost pennies to re-buy if needed throw it away".
My dad keeps tiles chinsel (?) that he used 20 years ago but "is needed". I don't think they plan to make any renovation in next years... And it cost 40€. 40€ for cluttering lockers in small apartment for 25 or so years... Not to mention there are points where you can rent needed tools for few days D:

Had a whole bunch of boxes with pc games, selling them one for one when people don't even bid on it, even just wanted to throw them at the dump, then my dad saw an ad someone wanted to buy collections, the person came the same day and i got 170 euro for everything.
So i got more space and some money out of it. :p
Also going to try sell my amiga, invested 600 euro/gulden in it, but never played on it really once, the only things i really use are my clothes, tv and pc, i got so much on Steam, GOG and other places alone let alone have time for other consoles.
Your mind feels more free with less stuff.

Heh I threw out my old collection of pirated games and movies a few months ago. Strange thing was I never played or watched most of the games or movies. I think I was more interested in simply acquiring the media than using it, even though I genuinely felt interested in the games/movies.

I remeber how about 10 years ago I threw it away more than 300 pirated disks with games. Today I did the same with my movies collection (probably 200 or so). And I also try to sell my collection of video games magazines. I am not sure if anyone will buy them and I'll probably throw them away too.
My place is renovated so I feel it is time to let go some of my stuf.
In August I will live in new clean house with my girlfriend. I will heve two weeks of vacation, I will play bunch of games I bought recantly. Espetially on my PS4. So yeah, I will have one shitty month with loads of work and dust allergy and one probably good one.
