I can remember some good bundles from Groupees but i can't include the Remute's ones on my short list.

What happened to them?

I agree with you. I use to buy all the groupees bundles in 2013-2014 and then slowly in 2015 they started falling off

I don't remember anything good or worthwhile about any of those bundles,
and I probably picked up the couple that did have something decent in them.

Thanks for the thread, though, GodFeeling.

I often actually do like Remute's game choices, but I've bought a few of his bundles and this is a rebundle and a build-a-bundle, so if there are any that I actually want and don't have yet, I'll just pick them up later, probably with a coin ...

Yes. It's basically a gamble: You buy blind but on the upside you get the bundle cheaper than if you wait until the games are revealed.

In my experience I've had much better luck with IndieGala bundles. They're the same price or cheaper than pre-orders, you get to know what's in them, and the quality IMO is better. IG usually manages to swing at least a few interested games every bundle. I can't say the same for most of my Groupees buys.

I can count on one hand how many indiegala monday bundles I bought, they are consistantly the worst bundles, like they are working on to be as bland as possible, and they deliver each and every monday :D
Not like Groupees (especially recently) is any better (and I won't deny that generally Remute bundles are pretty bad, I bought 4 and the latest was excellent (with Warden and such), one okay, and two regrets... out of the ~20 ); the Hump- and Friday bundles at least have the chance to be really good for the price :)

By one of us I hope it means one of us on all of SG. Why anyone would have such trash on their wishlist is beyond me. You are right that 99% of the stuff on the IG Monday bundles is complete garbage.

Everyone treats their wishlist differently, I try to keep it around 100-150 titles, considering my backlog. If the bundle will make someone happy, I'm happy for them ; for me IG is super hit or miss, every few weeks there's something I really like then nothing inbetween. Sometimes I just wish they would select more than the freshest batch of games that are utterly lackning of originality and/or quality :\

I was thinking that some people have no taste but that it's certainly not exclusive to games as it can apply to literally anything from clothing, to food, to any form of entertainment, etc. Upon looking at the person's profile they have over 4800 games wishlisted!! WOW, just WOW. I also don't see the point of a wishlist if you wishlist pretty much anything and everything but that's just me.

I treat my wishlist as a list of games I would play. For games I'm actively seeking deals on, I use IsThereAnyDeal. I think I only have 1-3 games on there. I add junk IG games to my library to farm cards, but my Wishlist is strictly things I see myself installing and trying. I have a category in Steam which has my Steam backlog, and then I have another list in Evernote of my non-Steam backlog (old PC games, console games, etc.)

If you are wondering how I went through so many Steam games, I have made a tool to make it much faster:

https://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/sLtqc/userscript-steam-hotkeys-keyboard-shortcuts-for-the-steam-website

I also don't see the point of a wishlist if you wishlist pretty much anything and everything but that's just me.

I am not a very picky gamer, which is shown in the contents of my wishlist. Sadly it gets really, really long, but I'm not sure there's anything I can do about that.

FWIW I don't think you should do anything about your wishlist situation unless you feel like you want to make a change. Use your wishlist however you feel like and try to not get influenced by people that like to tell others what they should or shouldn't do.

Permalink

I agree with using it as you want ;) I mainly use mine to keep an eye on games so its often changing! :)

I can't really make up my mind on what I should use it as. I mostly wishlist stuff that I want to keep track of or just as a reminder to check it out at some later point because procrastination is my middle name

I bought 9 of the bundles; good chance I got some of the other games from other bundles and won giveaways.

That said; I'll pony up; I'll just have more to give away.

I took the gamble this time, since there were some interesting games in Remute's previous bundles.
Either I'll come to regret my second -and possibly last- preorder (and create a few more giveaways), or I'll get something nice for me.

Meh - own five of them with nothing particularly spectacular - oh, there's a 99 cent game that must have gotten Greenlit that I hadn't noticed and some Desura keys from 2014 :-(

I truly miss when Groupee's bundles were amazing and I stayed up late to see what was in the newest bundle. :-( Sigh feeling old now

Got to love people telling everyone else that if you don't share their particular taste yours is crap.

I've had this before and it doesn't have nearly enough sauce and tastes like cardboard:

https://i5.walmartimages.com/asr/ae7e0788-671e-4849-9140-5e3bdf3e7283_2.e663e3a25b2df3065bf79290462ab022.png

Is there someone out there who likes it? Perhaps. But it doesn't change the fact that it is crap.

I don't get it. Are you trying to say that cardboard is crap?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

What's not to get? Pizza that tastes like cardboard is. And that's what this and other Groupees bundles are. And DailyIndieGame, Otaku/Go Go Bundle, Cubic Bundle, many Indie Gala bundles (especially on Mondays), and to be fair, even certain Bundle Stars ones now like the dollar bundles (along with other currently inactive sites I may be leaving out). These are the equivalent of Ellio's pizza. It may technically be edible but oh man is it awful.

Pizza huh? I feel that you're not communicating your points in a very well thought out manner. This bundle is a pizza that tastes like cardboard and coincidentally is the equivalent of Ellio's, whoever that is, pizza. Ok. Is this somehow supposed to convince me to accept you as the arbiter of good taste or is it just random information?

I've communicated them perfectly clearly in an easily understandable manner. Hard to believe that you are being serious here. Not trying to convince you or anyone of anything. Just stating what everyone who has any sense knows as truth. Anyway, have a nice day.

It's understandable that you'd like to think that. It's also hard to believe you're being serious when calling anyone disagreeing with you senseless. Anyway, hugs and kisses
