Just curious. It's been a super hard and busy week for me and i havent had a time or energy to play anything for a 3 days now. Even thou i have few nice games waiting for my attention i'm just too beat to give them any.Life as an adult has a bad tendency of catching up to you if you take it too chill for too long and leave things unchecked.

This is hardly a longest time for me ,but i thought this could be a nice topic for a conversation.

Sorry for a lackluster pool but adding 27 options didint feel like a good idea + i'm tired.

How long have you been without playing any videogame?

View Results
Less than 24hours.
Few days.
3 days to a week.
1 week to a month.
More than a month.

I went 3 weeks, got an incoming semester end examination session. Then out of boredom I downloaded and began playing the first Splinter Cell game today.

Sigh

My examination result is gonna get fucked up, but on the plus side the game is really amazing!

In the past, I was so burned out on games that I stopped playing them altogether for a few months.

Now I spend more time on reading and other hobbies so that I don't get to that point again

I played a lot of video games throughout my primary and high school. C64, then a DOS PC, Windows 98. Around 2002 when I started university (age 19), I got somewhat fed up with gaming. In 2003 I met a new friend at the university. He was a hardcore gamer. We commuted together and every day he was telling me stories about Deus Ex, Divine Divinity, Dungeon Siege, Gears of War, Oblivion and the Witcher. I was like "Sounds cool, but I don't game anymore".

It took me until around 2011 (age 28) when I got Mount and Blade from Bundlestars to get into gaming again. I loved Mount and Blade. Since then I completed Witcher and Deus Ex. The friend died in a freak accident in 2008, so I was never able to share gaming enthusiasm with him.

So. The longest for me: around 9 years ;-)
(There may have been some Nintendo Wii Tennis at some friends' parties, but it doesn't count).

More than a month, GPU died and had to wait for an RMA.
That month I learned you can almost die of boredom. I was without my PC at all.

No one to talk to, no manga to read, no crunchyroll or netflix, no games, etc.

I play games everyday lol, but I try to limit myself to 1-2 hours top. When I'm on vacation of course no gaming, so I voted few days.

A couple of month or more. Computer was dead and I didn't have the money to buy the necessary components.
I did play flash games online a few times with a craptop during that time though.

Hm, recently I guess when I developed strong depressions and before I was put on meds which could be few weeks of just lying in bed. That was 10 years ago tho and since then... Dunno, probably two-three days at most. I don't overdo it and have few games in progress at a time and play a little bit each day. I think base Witcher 3 lasted me for 4 months that way.

But there were few years after our DOS computer died and before we got a Win98 machine when I had no computer or game device of any kind. I spent those playing with others outside and doing various stuff that looking back was dangerous like hell and I'm baffled how I'm still alive.

Before I got this PC I haven't played videogames in a few years. The last platform I played videogames on was the Xbox 360 and during my apprenticeship I lost interest as I had other things to do or worry about. Then about two years ago I got this PC and now I'm playing regularly again.
