Valve's last update of the policy of gifts removed the ability for the purchased gift to be tradable after 30 days !!
in other words if you buy a games it will never be tradable even after 30 days !!

  • is this true ?

That's probably untrue! Never heard of that and it doesn't even sound true. o.O My gifts get tradable after 30 days.

Yeah, I just made sure it's not true. If you try to purchase a game as a gift right now, it says it becomes tradable after 30 days, just like always.

Yup ... their to lazy to label the few games with VAC as non tradable after any time span > meaning you buy Rocket League or
some other Game with VAC > and you can't trade it afterwards but sent it via gifting to someone. And they only can accept it by
adding it to their library (not inventory). Also on a fun note > you gift a VAC protected game, they get VAC'd you get VAC'd lol.

Games without VAC btw. (pretty much everything ...) is tradeable after 30 days.

That's also true, but I think he was talking about gifts in general, not gifts for vac-protected games specifically - or didn't he? o.O
Still, you can always buy it as a gift, send it to an e-mail, copy the link, and give it to whoever wants to buy it.

Yes, that's what I'm saying. That's only for VAC-protected games. But you can always buy them as a gift ---> send them to an e-mail ---> copy the link you can see in your e-mail ---> give the link to the person you want to send it. All the other games though can be tradable after 30 days.

I don't think you can get VAC'd if the receiver gets VAC'd, you just can't gift that game again.

Then the issue you are asking about is related to VAC-enabled games that can't be stored as gifts (thus traded) anymore.

There's a difference. But yes, it's possible. Many scammers are using stolen money to sell games and then the games get revoked.
