As the title says.

Its disappointing this is true, i mean there is some but its often done in a weird way.

Closest games are the ones where you play as a reptilian race, like the Elder Scrolls games.

Just not enough where you play as either a large dragon in an engaging story or an anthromorphic dragon whos fighting to figure out who he is or something

There is also a lack of ones as a companion beside you.

I wish theyd release games like Spyro (the original and all the releases before skylanders) onto steam or even origin because even though its meant for kids, it still gives me a good laugh :)

Im aware of divinity, but Dragon Commander is kinda meh since its an RTS style game. And Divinity II, before the developer edition you were limited to when you could be a dragon

Yes it was! , It died after Skylanders reared its head. I wasnt able to play the whole trilogy of the reboot but it was an ok story, Elijah Wood's voice fit spyro. I just wish they kept Spade as Sparx. XD

I still remember I of the Dragon being quite fun, if tedious and repetitive.

Drakan's still my favorite dragon game so far, though technically you play as the human Rynn, and when in control of the dragon, you're riding him.

You can become a firebreathing dragon person in Dark souls :). And i think there was an old game in the nineties in which you were dragon flying around, kinda like in flight sims of that time :).

I remember some game called The I of the Dragon in which you played 100% ofr the game as a dragon. It's kind of old, think 2003/4, so it must be pretty difficult to get your hands on a copy. Maybe try the sparrow way.

That might be the ultimate dragon game, had lots of fun back in the day.

Though I still prefer Dragon Commander. Or Divinity 2.

Haven't tried Dragon Commander yet, but it doesn't seem like my kind of game. I enjoyed Divinity 2 a lot, it's a really fun rpg with a lot of humor.

I remember a console game where you could fly around as a dragon in, i think 3rd person, and there were maybe other dragons on other teams? Might have been more things going on, there were eggs to protect and i think destroy on the enemy team.

Maybe on the Playstation or ps2, really not sure, maybe even original xbox.
