This video contains controversial material

With Auschwitz, controversial director Uwe Boll depicts the harsh reality of the process inside one of the most infamous Nazi death camps by using brutally realistic imagery. By shining a light on a small corner of the holocaust, Boll effectively shows us just how depraved and sadistic life in the camps could be - and how short. Auschwitz is not for the faint of heart. Boll combines documentary footage and interviews with a fictional narrative in an attempt to understand the horrors that were visited on the victims of the Nazis. Auschwitz explores humankind’s capacity for evil and examines our understanding of one of the bleakest periods of our history.

Q: Why did the calf cross the road?

So, who wants to test Groupees for getting a refund?

Dear lord... Uwe Boll. Okay, this is rock bottom.

Quite definitively.
Ignoring 'is quality plummeting' discussions, the inclusion of Uwe Boll only further deteriorates the already dubious respectability of Groupees staff, in their outlook toward community and content management.

Indeed. I usually try to see the good in things, but Groupees' way to create bundles with any trash they can get their hands on is really getting out of... hand (pun not intended). Let's hope this one will convince even more people not to pre-order (I'm healed for good that's sure).

I just don't like their 'we'll support any bundles on our site, no matter what concerns there are over the morality and conduct of the developers or bundlers involved,' a concept that extends to their support of ever-escalating chat abuse.

They did swap out a fraud charity once, and a morally compromised one once, so it's not like that's a completely black and white flaw..
..though one could argue they should have put minimal research into it themselves, first, given that the problems with the two were blatantly apparent..

I dunno, from their excellent library system, what seems to be solid purchase support, and fun approach to bundles [well, if they ever didn't half-ass it], you want to support them..

But their sloppy, rushed, half-assed, morality-consideration-eschewing approach to things can get exhausting.
Well.. less screw-customers-over than IndieGala and GMG, and better quality bundles than basically all but Humble and Bundlestars [recent track record and community bundles aside], so it's still one of the best bundle sites.

Just, deeply flawed. :/

Which one was the morally compromised one? One of the kissbundles had almost 100% free games (from the past few months) and I remember they throw in other games immediately, or you're talking about a different one?

Not quite what I'm referring to- as I stated, morality as it relates to the individuals putting together the bundles.
Groupees is letting known bigots and trolls [eg, shoppa, miller] do bundles, and including things of questionable repute [eg, Uwe Boll].

But as to your topic.. including free games is NOT something Groupees is known for, are you sure you're not thinking Cubic, any of the G2A sites, DIG, or so forth?

Not that I'm questioning your assertion, but if that happened, I'd call it a fluke until more evidence was presented to support it.

This is the expanded rooster. Racer 8, chip, hyper fighters, chaos domain, rover rescue, ionball, platypus, culling of the cows, maybe even Commando jack was free even before the bundle's launch.

That's from Nov 2014, are you sure those games were all free then?
Almost certain a fair number weren't..
(The sg thread suggests only two were.)

Though, that's a terrible bundle, no matter how you look at it :X

straight from Infromatics (sp?) in Groupees chat, though I haven't tested it myself.

In theory, may only apply where there's legitimate concern over bundle contents [eg, how the VN3 bundle had no VNs whatsoever in it], rather than buyer's remorse, but that'd apply in this circumstance anyway.

The Uwe Boll film is apparently terrible (surprise surprise), and if going by the reviews that I found, also so inaccurate that it's insulting to the people who actually had to live through those horrible events. Other Boll movies can be "funny bad", but this is not something you laugh at.

I'm honestly just surprised any devs were willing to have their games associated with that.. were they not told?
If so, that'd be really uncomfortable for Groupees if any of them decide to raise a stink..

I'm the developer of Seeders (one of the games in the bundle). I was only told that there will be "6 games, 5 albums and 1 graphic novel." No mention of the details. I think they mix and match bundle content on the fly and nobody knows what will be the actual bundle contents until maybe a couple of hours before going live. (I have no proof of that, but it's a hunch).

Man, if Groupees sent out an email to artists saying "We need some items for a bundle including a Uwe Boll film about Auschwitz that's supposed to be super serial, guys," I would have had to have sent them in one of my band's CDs.

The only thing better than a trainwreck is somehow getting close enough to the trainwreck to take a selfie of yourself with it in the background.

Groupees? Reliably send out email alerts?
Whaaaaaaaa?

I dunno, there's less 'smut and snuff work made by very angry 15 year olds' in the bundle, than I'd expect from a bundle containing Uwe Boll.
They should throw in a few MangaGamer "games", that'd fit right in.

Doesn't and probably would never happen, but they should. They have Christian there who could, theoretically, just make a mailing list of all the bands that have contributed music to bundles and maybe send out an email every few weeks about upcoming bundles with their theme. Might help improve the quality of the bundles, too, if bands that were part of them before are actively choosing to be part of new bundles based on interest instead of a constant flood of random new bands that happen to email them.

I will say, though, I don't regret this bundle pre-order... this ALPACA CD is pretty amazing.

Oh, I was making a joke on how Groupees often fails to send out e-mails for music bundles or short-window-preorder bundles or the like*. Wasn't actually directing it to the contributor side of things. :P

* Not that I'd know if that was still the case, haven't been following their e-mails for a while.

It's sort of hard to be timely for all bundles and preorders when you've got several of them starting throughout the week and only one newsletter per week. If you want something a bit more timely, subscribe to Twitter or Facebook, or David's emails. I also put up most game bundle preorders as announcements on the Steam group.

Cool, thanks for the info!
I especially appreciate that you're willing to keep replying to me so constructively, given our disagreements.
It'd come up several times in chat, and you mentioned at the time that e-mails were supposed to have been sent out, so I think that's where we got confused.

Just sucks missing out on a music bundle preorder because you didn't know it was up, when they tend to often have weirdly short preorder periods.

I primarily follow the steam announcements, now, and they seem to still often miss out on mentioning music bundles entirely, preorder or not.

Be cool if you all would be willing to make that a more reliable source of information. :)

Now I really know why Groupees disabled the !downvote option. It's just to hide the fact that more and more of their bundles are really, but really crap!

!Upvote also disabled, but this is indeed wtf levels of bad.

You're right about the !upvote being also disabled but most probably the !upvote was collateral damage when they removed the !downvote option. Also that new !Iown thing doesn't say anything about a bundle being good, decent or poor.

The only logical explanation is that Groupees didn't like the possibility of downvoting as this would have warned potential buyers to think twice before purchasing a downvoted bundle.

Also I've noticed on Groupees that when someone of Groupees or a curator that does a Groupees bundle says a game has never been bundled before that sometimes it's only partially true as some games have indeed never been bundled before on Groupees but have been bundled already on other bundle sites.
