So, PSN is selling the PS3 Ultimate Evil Edition (base and expansion) for NZ$36 / US$25. I'm aware it isn't going to have all the content of the PC version, as updates for the last generation consoles stopped at 2.06, while current gen consoles and PC have continued beyond that. I'm honestly not too bothered about that, cheap is cheap. :P

Still, before I go ahead and buy it on pay day, is there any sites where I might want to look up in 5 days when I have the cash? If I can get them on PC for about US$30 max, I'll go and jump on it. Amazon has a sale on the game, but the expansion is sold separately, with the base for $20 and expansion for $24. Doesn't help that its also physical copies, meaning its out. Not getting it shipped to New Zealand.

People tell me Torchlight 2 is a much better and cheaper game. I've also played Torchlight 2 a lot.

I preferred the original Torchlight. Same with Diablo 1 / 2, original was better IMO. I've tried the demo for 3 and liked it, so going to purchase it.

d3 is good from few patches, but still like diablo2 etc, new season = month play then waiting for new season and again month etc

Not really. I never played any seasons because they're boring. It's about grifts and getting better gear.

I was made the mistake to start with Torchlght 2, i was amazed with the quality, content and music, afterwards when i completed the game, bought torchlight 1.
2 weeks ago i started diablo 3 just to relax, after 2 hours or so i found that something missing and feels uninspired, now i dont want to login and continue.
5 days ago i started Torchlight 1 with passion, i enjoyed my first 2 hours but again that feeling ended soon and now feels repetive.

Of Course don't take my opinion seriously, everyone has their ups and downs, i wanted to share my experience.

See, I did the same thing, starting with Torchlight before touching Diablo 3. I played the first, and aside from a few annoyances I finished it and started Torchlight 2. I figured with all the praise everyone gives it, I'd enjoy it a ton, since I loved Diablo 2 as much as the next guy. I have no idea why, but something about T2 just felt boring to me. I played through as much as I could, but it was quickly growing stale after I had gotten a few towns in.
Later on I ended up trying D3, having been in the mood for those types of games from playing all the Torchlight games (And having been avoiding playing it because of how much bad rep it seems to have), and I ended up liking what I played, so bought the games on PC at a discount; though not at as much of a discount as OP is asking. I've been playing the game a lot longer than I was able to put into T2, and I'm still consistently getting on D3. It's been a much more enjoyable game for me.
As you said, everyone has their ups and down, their likes and dislikes. I can't explain what it was about T2 that I didn't like over D3, but I just could not enjoy myself while I played it. D3 I continue to enjoy, however. Figured since you shared your experience, I'd share mine that seemed opposite of yours.

Thanks you for the great reply, my mistake as i noted its because i started with T2 which was technically a better version of T1, i think i dont like anymore or lost interest of action RPG's. Still i need to play GRIM DAWN :)

Quite welcome. It's always good to see what others think, especially if they can give you a reason without trying to invalidate everything that you find enjoyable in something. Starting in a later game in a series usually isn't best if you go back to enjoy a previous game; they tend to make improvements in the sequels. :P
I at first did not want to try D3 after much of what people said. Many tried to point me toward Path of Exile, saying it puts D3 to shame, as with Torchlight 2. Now, after finding I didn't enjoy T2 as much as I did with D3, I am a bit worried about trying out PoE. I will at some point I'm sure, but I get on D3 too regularly as it is to bother trying yet. Don't want to diminish what enjoyment I would have by trying to play both at the same time.

They'll have sale on Diablo 3 during Black Friday and/or Christmas. Other than that, not sure.

But there's a shady website selling xpac around 20-25 USD, G2A I think. If you want to risk it, of course.

I don't think you'll manage to grab game + expansion for less than 40$ on PC unfortunately. I'm also waiting for that to happen, but they never seem to discount it more than 50%.

You're probably gonna have to wait for a black friday deal or buy from some "shady" reseller. Tho you won't get it as cheap as you're hoping from the official store, like it's already been pointed out, it never goes lower than 50% off there.

Honestly i was gonna buy it last sale it got(was more of an impulse thing i doubt i'd like it) but since Blizzard like to be dicks to my country and try to make me buy in GBP i guess i'm never gonna, not from the official store anyway. I am however gonna buy Grim Dawn as soon as it goes 50% off on the current sale, you might wanna check that one out as well :)

Well, not going to give money to someone sitting one keys that may be pulled, and not interested in waiting in hopes that I might find a decent deal, so PSN it is.

Yeah that's your best bet. Funny enough it's actually cheaper for me to order a retail copy from an online store in my country, than it is to buy digital keys for it, it would be around 35 euros for both :)

Don't know if this will help, but EBGames is having their, usual sale.

Still sort of expensive, but $47 for Diablo 3

$28 for Reaper of Souls

First part of message - I'm in a different country. And that is still twice the price of the PSN copy. I'm not paying that much for access to updates. :P

Second part - Still a different country, I'll pay the price on PSN, its about US$25.

Could have sworn they offer a pack for both on the official site for a discount, didn't they?

Anyway, don't want to wait that long. I have money now, I might not then. I've missed past sales because of the timing, don't want to put it off for months.

I think they offer a discount if you buy both at once, but I think that is about $60 for both instead of $80.
Interestingly the PS3 & Xbox versions have 2 separate sets of in game goodies that are usable in the PC version [which also has in game goodies in Collectors Ed] once the console versions have been linked to your acct.

So at 50% off, that would be acceptable. Just a matter of timing.

I'll still get on PS3, but maybe I'll have it on PC in the future if timing doesn't leave me broke when a suitable sale shows up.

dont bother with the game, its been ruined by the developers. like.. its laughably broken. i joined a game and went from lvl 1 to lvl 70 in less than an hour. like its really bad.

Why would you ever bother leveling normally aside from going through the story mode the first time? The game starts after getting max level when you can start hunting for gear.

^This. Though, I basically only play with friends and it's fun to occasionally do a 4 man with someone who just bought the game and go through low levels with them on alts. Doing so gives them a chance to gradually build their abilities/build rather than starting from 70 after never playing the game. They can go through and start a different character to gradually do story mode on their own time.

yup, the "real" game begins when you hit paragon level and start to build your character with sets. bounties, rifts, greater rifts. campaign mode is just the intro.

i really enjoyed the story the first time i played it with each hero, but now i just go straight to lv70 and farming.

and personally, there's no better arpg title in the market. some might offer different things but none matches the quality and content diablo offers.
btw, i'm not a blizzard fangirl, this is what i trully think about the game in its current state.

That's pretty much what you're supposed to do after having beaten the single-player. I disagree with others here though, for me the single-player campaign is the main game and grifts/gearing is a casual afterthought.

Sorry, they just have the expansion, at $20, and hey, shipping. Physical copies to New Zealand for some reason boost the price.

If you have any friends who have GCU for BestBuy (unless you want it physically cause shipping), it's $15.99 (20% off) which still changes into $17.39 after tax for me. Might be the cheapest you can get it for.

I guess double the price if you need the base game, too. The cheapest I bought the game for was when GameStop had the $5 coupons for some android app going on and it was on sale for $19.99 (but they don't have it on sale currently).

it's $30 for 2 years for 20% off new games (10% off used), and I think physical only even though it says video game software; and some other things that don't matter:

They're on sale for $19.99 CAD each which comes out to about 18.33 USD after taxes.

Damn it SG, I posted a reply.

Tempted as I am, they are still a little more than I could dump in this week, my reason for mentioning US$30 in the opening post. I suppose there is no discount for buying both together either. :P

The sale is on until the 25th if it makes any difference! The weak CAD helps a bit, but it is still over $30 USD unfortunately.

Diablo 3
Reaper of Souls

Obviously shipping still hurts, but if you don't need the boxes then I could just grab the keys!

I mentioned that sale a while back, where you could get both for like $20, but you said "Meh... I'd rather play it on my console."

If you're unable to find the price you want, just wait until December. I expect you'll have a better chance of snagging it for a low price at that time.

Mostly because I know the console copy is easier to get cheap (US$25 is tempting), and easier for me to control as the PC version doesn't bother with the gamepad controls. I'm just uncertain now since I know PS3 / 360 doesn't get updates past 2.06, which means some lost content, but also no nerfs for stuff I might like. Plus, the Last of Us rift is PS3 / PS4 exclusive. I wanted to fight clickers.

If I can find it on PC for a decent price, I'll go with the mouse controls.

I absolutely love my console copy of Ultimate Evil Edition. My biggest and only real complaint is that nearly every public game I join is full of hacked loot. People that hit for a trillion because they are using hacked gear. I remember joining a game and a dude dropped all his hacked gear for me and I didn't want to touch it. I knew it would trivialize everything in the game so I just left and went back to my single player game. If you have friends to play with or you are a single-player type gamer then the game is great. Otherwise it's full of hackers/cheats.

Yup, would be doing a single player run. Might have a friend join me if I have trouble, but not anyone that would have hacked gear.

Another thing that the PC version does that consoles don't is the seasons, so I've been told by a friend of mine that plays on PS4. Every once in a while (Basically whenever Blizzard decides but they said they want to have it regularly after a certain period), as well as the regular updates, they'll put out a new season that has new gear to find. That's mostly if you're in it for the long-haul and the "end game" content. If you only care about story, then that stuff doesn't effect you in any way.
