Hello im goin to invite my brother to SG and the rules say that only 1 account per IP and we log onto each others computers when we have a dl goin or a virus scan on one so what will happen if i log onto his comp and vise versa? we have mostly the same games cept i have a lil more than him. Some websites have something that autoban when more than one account is used per IP. so i was just asking before i invited him.

You're IP address is the same regardless of what computer you are on in your home, as long as you are using the same internet connection.

You're ISP gives you one public IP address. Your router assigns private IP address to all the computers connected to it. Anyone outside your network only sees the one IP.

That is what I thought. The IP should be seen as the same on their end regardless of which computer you are on if they are on the same connection.

More than likely you would be ok as long as you wipe all steam and sg related cookies before and after you logged in on another computer in your house. If they are trying to track this kind of thing, then more would have to be done. As ted pointed out, your IP will appear the same to the server anyway since you share a router.

Just don't log into SG on the others computer. It's not that time sensitive that it can't wait till your own computer is freed up.
