Somebody hijacked my steam account (he changed my email password too) so watch your back from those bastards. I sent a ticket to steam support and I hope I'll get my account back...
Edit: This account is created with the stolen email too :(
Edit2: Thank you all for suggestions, I hope I'll get my account back.
P.S.: lokonopa, suspend this account, I'll contact you if I get back my steam account.

Third one this week I think. Do you remember what could have possibly caused the hijack?

Consider doing an anti-virus and spyware scan. He might still be there.

Nope hijacks are not through software or password guess. Its simply contacting steam support fooling them into resetting acc email and password. I got hijacked like this once :\

They stole his e-mail also. It's probably a keylogger or trojan.

In the future, try and use two-step verification for your email. Randomly, it came up as me having sending tonnes of messages sent as spam. I dunno why, so I activated two-step verification. I think, I found out why - I signed in on school and it didn't log out, so be sure to clear the authenticator every so often

I don't know one. Personally, I use gmail. They give you the option to use an android ap / message sent to phone to verification your account when signing in. When that happened to me, I got scared.

Also, definitely do a virus scan.

Hackers really are the scum of the virtual world

Considering that steam support don't answer to my ticket, I think I will never get back my steam account.

prepare to wait for 3-4 days until they respond to your ticket.
it is rare to get a reply within 48 hours.
I never got a reply within 24 hours.
Good luck =)

I second this, all the times I have had to contact them it was at least 3 days. The one time my account was stolen though they were able to get it back when I showed proof of ownership and luckily no bans on it.

that sucks bro, i always make sure i have secured everything.
like my passwords just incase i forget 1 i don't use to often i put it in an protected folder wich interacts with fingerprints.
of course not everyone has that technolagy installed on his laptop/desktop.
in that case (change passwords) and virus scan at least every month and of course make a new password it should be something even your Best friend can't guess (and don't write it on paper)

I may have to suspend your account if you've been hijacked. We've experiences issues before involving hijacked accounts and we'd want to avoid that again.

Please submit a ticket when you can show that your account is no longer hijacked. I am sorry that you're going through this.

i encountered a hacker, i was on my email, and suddenly, my picture changed to trollface, they renamed me Troll Face, i talked to him/her/it, and i managed to get them to give me my email back, they did get into my steam account, but they gave it back remarkably, no damage, If you get it back, check your ban record, they might have interfered with it :)

My condolences. This is always so frightening. That you can lose so much content, and money with just a few words (Passwords)

I'm sorry! I hope you manage to get your account back soon, hopefully with minimal/less damage!
If it's a virus/keylogger or whatever, you might consider checking on your anti-virus software and keeping Malwarebytes.

Alternatively, make sure your passwords are up to snuff. I'm a total freak about privacy and security, so I use randomized passwords for my accounts, tracking them on KeePass, a free open-source password manager. Alternatively, there is Lastpass, a reputable online password manager that is easy to use.

Regardless, hope all things go well for you!

I'm sure you'll get it back. Got mine hacked a few months ago, Steam Support took at least 5 days to reset it and give it back to me, after that I formatted my pc for security reasons.
