I don't know the exact answers to your questions but I traded more than 200 games and I never got suspended.AFAIK you'd never get banned for receiving a Steam gift.Worst thing that could happen would be getting a gift revoked, the game being deleted from your library or inventory. It happened to me and I couldn't do anything about it.

Yes it is possible. Extremely rare. But possible.
It's really a matter of quantity most of the time, you consistently get gifts/trades/items from fraudulent purchases/hijacked accounts then you're probably get a trade ban/store ban. You might also get it from a single trade/gift but much more likely the item will simply get revoked.
Try and keep your trades with accounts that look legit and you should be pretty safe though.

From my experience I have not been banned from trading, even when I got scammed and the other trader has a warning shown on his steam profile now.

Steam doesn't give a flower (:V) about phishing bot, i would be very pissed if steam decides to ban for trading :|

I've done a few trades on Steamtrades.com, and never had a problem. Just be sure to find people with a lot of positive trades, going back quite a while. If they have a lot of positive feedback, but its only for a short timeframe (few weeks), you might want to be wary.
Also, if the deal is too good to be true, it probably is.

There seem to be a large number of users that were suspended since they received games from fraudulent purchases. WHAT ?
I don't know where you saw that information but it seems wrong to me.. I've had games revoked before from a guy who ended up contesting the purchases but I got the items I traded for the games back (Valve game items). I've never heard of someone getting suspended for something they traded for and that would simply be wrong unless there's a real proof that he/she was in league with the offender that traded the gift.

Just dont use a fake/vpn account to milk your main account with cheaper games (evading steam region prices). Guess if you do that many times you will eventually get flagged.

Has anyone here faced this issue ?
Also, is it possible for you to get suspended for trading with an account that does fraudulent purchases ?
Lastly, if someone purchases games using a vpn is that considered as a fraudulent purchase ? Can another user be suspended for trading with the former user.
I wish to purchase games from steamtrades.com. Obviously I do not know the source of these games which may put my account at risk !
