Can't add friends on Steam

I can send friend requests but they don't show up as pending

What I tried:

  • Restarting Steam
  • Reinstalling Steam
  • Uninstalling Steam, deleting everything that remained, then performing a clean install

Only thing left is asking here, after that... going to Steam Support and waiting an eternity for a copy paste answer like "Have you tried turning it off and on again?"

So if anyone else had something similar please tell me how you fixed it, thanks! :P

steam friends are not unlimited, and the max increases as u level up, have u maybe reached the max?

The default limit is 250, so that's not it.

The limit on your steam friends list is 300+ friends I believe...

Have you brought a game from Steam? I think only people can add you if you have never brought a game.
