Shameful self-promotion ( +GA's of course :3 )

Hello everyone!

This is my first self-promotion ever. I hope you don't mind. I'm not part of many communities (actually I can't think of any beside steamgifts). You helped me a lot in the past when I was feeling down. And I met some very good friends in here.

I only recently started streaming on twitch and I would like to get more viewers (I don't need salty people, that's why I'm here in this place full of great people :)). I still doubt myself if I have what it takes to be a streamer. Probably not. I don't have an ambition to stream for thousands of people. I just like playing games and I would like to share some funny moments with other people and maybe play together.

So please, visit my twitch channel. I will be doing giveaways there as well. It's ok if you just come for the giveaway and leave. We've all been there, done that. I don't want you to feel forced to stay or chat. I'm a lurker myself :). Oh and maybe if you are observant enough, you will find one hidden giveaway here somewhere (will be ridiculously easy to find for common steamgifter ^^).

Also one more public giveaway for Outlast 2.

Keep in mind, that I started very recently and I'm still updating my panels (sections under the stream video) and working on new content :).

whaaat? :( I need to check rules real quick. I thought it was fine as I saw people doing this before (although it was in GA description and not in discussion)

I think you are right. I will edit my post to not metion what action to perform to enter the giveaway. Hopefully it will be fine then.

Updated my post. I hope it doesn't break any rules now as I've read them multiple times. If I understand correctly, self-promotion is fine as long as I don't force people to do "actions".

Unfortunately that's still something cg needs to clarify in the guidelines, but our policy has always been to allow advertising only in giveaway descriptions. I've already suggested to move the current guidelines point to the Terms of Service and replace with this :

  • Advertisements should not be posted in the forum. You are allowed to advertise in your giveaway descriptions.
  • External giveaways with actions to perform, such as joining a Steam group or following a twitter account, should not be posted on the website, including in giveaway descriptions.

So basically gleam giveaways and such cannot be posted anywhere on the website, and general advertising may be posted in giveaway descriptions.
