So I won a giveaway for Burnout Paradise, and aparently the guy was giving out Origin keys. Ok, whatever, I get that violated the rules. But, why, if someone would care to explain would a moderator delete the giveaways after they ended? Yes, I see that the user is suspended, but by deleting the giveaways the user in question who I'd love to name, but won't per the no calling out rule, gets to maintain a 100% recieved ratio. I feel like after the users suspension runs out, than none of this ever happened. I would much rather his recieved ratio dropped down to 63% for the 4 deleted giveaways. Any mod's care to chime in on this?

Edit The description said it was an origin key, my assumption since he was a non english native was that it was an origin bundle steam key, before anyone comes out saying it's my own fault, which is sort of was, but still.

I covered that in my edit, yes I agree to an extent it was, I shouldn't have assumed anything. But my bitch is not that I didn't recieve the game. It's that the giveaway creator gets to maintain a 100% received rating.

But he also got a suspension on his account and although we don't see that, support does. It always up to the mod to decide what to do in that case. In fact to a certain amount you can be happy that he got suspended, cause usually those people only get a "not received" without suspension (when its their first time).

A suspension is temporary, a not received stays forever, which is worse imo :p

if he fails to follow the rules again a suspension is much worse than a not received ;)

Imo the mods did the right thing. If someone creates a giveaway for Origin key those giveaways should be deleted and the user suspended. It's no different from if a person deletes their own giveaways. Their received ratio isn't and shouldn't be affected.

But the giveaways had ended. Correct me if I'm wrong but user deletion isn't an option at that point.

Hmm...well I dunno then. I suppose this kind of situations are pretty rare so there just isn't a universal rule regarding them.

I think all the people 'accidentally' giving out Origin keys are secret agents employed by EA to get more users for their service. Conspiracies, conspiracies everywhere! Where's my tinfoil hat?

While the giveaway was deleted, it should still remain visible on their profile, and it will be obvious to everyone with half a brain what happened. That is probably at least as damaging to their reputation as a "not received" strike.

This, is the kind of answer I was looking for, thanks for giving me some perspective.

If he gets suspended again, the mods will know it's his second violation. His record isn't as squeaky clean as you would assume it to be.

The point is to keep the system working, not to punish people to the fullest extent possible.

I am guessing that a big bulk of the Origin Bundle keys being given away on the site right now are actually origin keys, and no one is saying anything.
