Hey everyone!

I wanted to share a personal milestone with the community, I decided to become an Achievement Hunter! My goal going forward is to fully complete games, enjoy them to the fullest, and unlock 100% of their achievements. And to celebrate this shift in how I play games, I have decided to give back to this community that shares my love for gaming. Maybe just to add a small info, mostly i play games on consoles the first time without hunting in mind and afterwards if I play them on Steam again, i will care about achievments.

For every game I finish to 100% completion, I will be giving away a game. So far, Iโ€™ve completed 53 games...so today, there will be 53 giveaways!

A Little Disclaimer:
Yes, some of these 53 were shovelware or very easy games, dont be fooled by the number. But recently, I have taken this journey more seriously and started to play more challenging and meaningful titles like:Batman: Arkham Asylum, Bioshock, Abyss Odyssey, Agony, Ys Origin, Dead by Daylight, Planet Zoo

Extra Spice:
To make it more fun, I will be rating each game I completed on a difficulty scale from 1 to 10 (purely my personal take, dont take it too seriously!!!). The harder the game, the higher the entry level requirement for the giveaway. For example:

A 0/10 game might be open to everyone (you will see there are some 0. Its basically just starting the game)

A 10/10 game might require level 10 to enter.

This is just a fun way to mix things up and encourage myself, and maybe others, to take on bigger challenges and enjoy games more different.

I hope some of these giveaways bring joy to your library, just like these games brought joy (and occasional frustration, i cant deny that) to mine.

Tell me about your 100% Stories, if you doing the same thing or had just one game you wanted to finish to 100%

Good luck and have fun on your journey.

If you do not mind to get an unasked advice.
Do not fall into the trap to play games to boost your numbers just enjoy doing it with games you would play with or without achievements anyway.
It may keep your relationship and gaming habits much more healthy in the long run.
It sure did for me after i realised that this was dragging me down and drove me away from gaming step by step.

Thanks for caring!

I have actually set a few personal โ€œrulesโ€ to keep things balanced and enjoyable. At the end of the day, I play games because I love them. That is why I dont mind playing on consoles or diving into older titles like Just Cause 1 (which doesnt even have achievements).

Thanks again for the kind reminder, its always good to hear from someone who's been through it!

Wonderful idea and a great way to get the most out of your games. Thanks so much for sharing.

I wish Steam separated achievements for DLCs. I had 100% in Factorio but then the space DLC came out and I have 43% now. So many games are good but have crappy DLCs that aren't fun to play, never mind get optional achievements in.

I agree. Playstation is using a better "System" in my opinion, with platinum trophys, because you dont lose them, when DLCs come out.

Achievement hunting sounds like it could be fun. If you want an easy one with a laid back point and click story, Duck Detective ghost of glamping was amusing. Two hours long.

Some good variety of giveaways, thanks!

I did a few games 100% I liked god of war the most. I didn't do a few that I thought about because I don't like when you have to play the game 3-4 times to get platinum

God of War is also on my list. I actually agree, if you need too many runs, its too time consuming and experience the same thing over and over.

I tend to not 100% most games... there is usually something grindy, unfun... requiring a bunch of playthroughs, etc... among the achievements.

Visual Novels are an exception... as most of the time its just all endings and maybe a minigame or 2 achievement(which are frequently enjoyable minigames).

My sincere regrets

I don't hunt for achievements, I only play for enjoyment of the game (and achievements don't really mean a thing to me ๐Ÿ˜‹). So I couldn't possibly comment on your endeavour. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

But thank you for all the GAs, I did end up entering one of them. ๐Ÿ’™

Achievement hunter? I'd settle for becoming a game finisher.
My backlog scares me.

Game with easy 100% always a high interest for me to play even i'm not really interested on the game that much
currently i have 508 perfect games (not including the banned ones), but 80% of them are just easy to-do 100% games like VN, Puzzle with guides, point and click / Walk sim with walktrough or some quick games under 3 hours
if i think about it i probably never buy these games if i'm not achievement hunter and probably have -1000 games because i keep buying these games xD, but i still enjoyed playing them

i tend to skip these achievements even they are the last thing i need to get :
Speedruns
Complete the game on highest difficulty
Complete the game with no death
Multiplayer
Grind

so 80-90% would be fine for me for a true game that i really interested to play

Recently finished Moonlighter 100%, was a good challange (except for 1 grindy achievement)...
Also check out completionist.me, I use it for tracking. And also: Don't get too much dragged into cheevos. Some games are just unfun or hard to complete ^^

I don't care about achievements in games. I did in very few games for Steam:
FTL: Faster Than Light
Stumble Guys

The only other one I was thinking about completing was Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (38/42), but it is literally a pain...

I got the achievement OCD, hate it when there are achievements that require you to play a game x times over, or when they are super hard. When they are not missable, then they are best.

If it's the awards for hunting you are going for, increase your number by 2 by just opening Auto Cell: Game of Life and Kunker through Steam (Both free) and that's you got 2 more 100%s.

I'm sure there are more, but I tried these two by chance and was surprised when it happened :)

Too bad Auto-Cell won't count towards your completion rate bc of 'Profile Features Limited'.

Many games I want to play remain untouched because of broken cheevos or due to servers being closed.
And because of this AGC will drop, so every game i try to start i have to try to finish, except supergrinding ofc, like Governor of Poker 3..

sadly i missed when Garry was playing gmod back in the day...

Other than that, it feels nice to sometimes do sidequests etc for all chevos, sometimes it foffers a bit more to the story

I totally get your journey. I always aim for 100% completion in all the games I play. It lets you experience the game in a way you otherwise wouldn't have. You are 'forced' to explore more which lets you see more of the game world. You might find a new favorite weapon bc kill requirements won't allow you to stick to your go-to gun. Or they just give you some fun challenges like pacifist or no detection playthroughs in the Dishonored games for example.

Games with MP achievements are the bane of my existence though. ๐Ÿ˜†
I recently played Portal 2 (which has a lot of coop achievements) and managed to get all but 5 achievements. Played both characters with mouse/keyboard + a controller. That was an interesting experience.... ๐Ÿคช

Good luck with the new journey! It can be fun (depends on the genres you play)!

The 100% games I achieved

I used to attempt 100% achievements (when I had less than 500 games) until it burnt me out (and my library became unsustainably large). I even had categories on Steam named: 100%, Achievement Co-Op Required, Achievement DLC Required, and Achievement No Interest.

A lot of the games are not 100% achievements friendly (there are always a few grindy achievements that donโ€™t add much to gameplay, or mutually exclusive achievements that require you to do at least 2 playthroughs, but the game itself might not be interesting enough for a 2nd playthrough or the choices that donโ€™t really fit my play style. Hunting achievements became painful, and I started checking 100% achievement guides before even playing the game. I began to avoid games that I wanted to play but knew would be really time-consuming to 100%.

Then I realized gaming should be about fun, similar to what Matwyn, schmoan, and lext wrote. I would rather enjoy games first. If I like the game, I might 100% it to have it featured on my Steam profile.
