anyone else had this?

Edit: Turned out to be a Foreign Purchase Fee so a heads up to anyone outside USA paying by card alone if you aren't already aware.

HB have done poor currency conversions for a while. 1 Euro = 1 USD, 1 pound = 1 USD, etc.

I only wish they charged me the same number in AUD instead, but alas we still get charged in USD :P

My bank shows charges from Humble as $1=1€ while they're pending.

It might be a foreign currency charge by your bank. Mine charges me £1 if I buy anything from overseas. Use PayPal if you can.

Could be a payment that was already owed to Paypal

No thats why I couldn't use paypal. I paid it off as soon as I noticed (there and then) but it isn't instant so just used my card. Wouldn't let me buy it and pay it off.

I only paid the minimum of $1 which is about 67p and it charged me £1 extra, sure it isn't a ton but I'm not well off at the moment, hence only wanting to spend $1.

At the very bottom if you click on details it states "Fees typically range between 1.9% and 5% + $0.05 to $0.30 depending on a number of factors including your location, purchase price, and payment method. We've found that PayPal's fees are generally the lowest, but please choose whichever is convenient for you. We deduct VAT where applicable."

Just wish it was more obvious

Okay thanks for the info, is that from experience? I will keep an eye on it. I'd just never heard of a "FGN PUR FEE" before and was a little annoying to find out about it afterwards.

I replied earlier but saw the "FGN PUR FEE" I will guess thats short for Foreign Purchase Fee. If so, it is a charge by your bank if you purchase something from overseas and they have to convert currency. You won't get that money back.

Yeah it is a pain in the arse for when you spend something like 67 pence on a bundle! Try and use PayPal if you can and you won't get charged, even if you have nothing in your PayPal account and they take it from the bank.

Amazon already started doing this Foreign Purchase Fee thing to me when buying from the US store, but STarted on humble now?

Advice would be to use paypal if you can, even if using your card through it. It should avoid the £1 fee. Lloyds bank, I presume?

Paypal seems to start with foreign purchase fees for credit cards as well. Got an obnoxious warning for that when buying HB this week. Although I didn't get charged one after all, no idea what's up with that.
