You just have to make GA and have it end early enough to buy for winner while still at a discount... and send as direct gift over steam and have them,activate before sale ends...
If they wait and decide not want it then it may be returned to your account and reroll won’t likely make the sale...

I also don't necessarily want to be giving everything away now though. I wanted to be able to space it out, which isn't something you can do while taking advantage of sales like this anymore.

It's really weird. I'm imagining entering the store with a friend and on a cash register they are like "oh you can't buy them this chocolate, they are from another country". Can you imagine the backlash for that? But online it's fine.

It's more like entering a store, buying a chocolate, and then asking the store to mail the chocolate to your friend in another country, or to hold the chocolate indefinitely until you tell them where to send it.

Or.. "You can't buy more than one of this chocolate, but conveniently we released a service were you give your money to your friend and he can buy it."

I think it's only possible to store gifts in your inventory if you buy a pack of multiple copies of a game (like a 2 pack, 4 pack, etc.). And true, steam sucks.

Yeah, it sucks. Just going to have to check 3rd party key sellers like Humble and Indie Gala to see if they offer similar sale prices.

I know it's been covered probably a million times since it happened, but I just got really sad when I went to check out the Halloween sale and buy some stuff for giveaways, forgetting that I can't just store stuff in my inventory anymore. I'm guessing no one has found a way around it since it sends directly through steam and not even to emails anymore. Guess I'll just have to stick to buying keys from other places.
