Is it a coincidence or did Epic Games have to do something with this?

Coincidence

Epic Games as in you think the actual company set it up? Or just some rustled fanboys? Because I literally can't see a multimilion company caring about a single Steam review. The truth is, people choose sides and are going to do dumbest and shittiest things to defend their side. You hurt a side and the side answers in the only way they know, aka harassment. This sucks, and I am sorry it happened to you, but the reality is people are gonna be shitty for 0 money

You're absolutely right but I'm not the only anti-Epic reviewer being silenced most of them are being taken out. What confuses me is why is a Steam Mod banning it over and over after the support staff has already unbanned it for me.

Every time you think about "why things are happening on the internet?" remember that the average internet user is 13 - 15. They are bored. I've seen kids bullying people for being pro EGS, or anti EGS (neither of the opinions is inherently wrong, bullying people is though). And I can't answer about why the mods are banning it, you have to get in contact yourself. Possibly for offtopic activity, but... Steam reviews aren't exactly most on topic in the world

I don't think offtopic is a flag. From what I know people can write pretty much anything, even giant emojis of Sherk as reviews. Steam has the funny react button so it is encouraged from what I believe.

My goodness, humans really are in dire need of conspiracy theories.
How about Steam not being interested in offering a platform for your version of a console war?
Epic, if you read this contact me for my payment.

How about Steam not being interested in offering a platform for your version of a console war?- Where is that a thing on Steam? I can't find it in the ToS or anywhere else.
and this is by no means a conspiracy theory post. It's my unfortunate experience that I'm sharing.
From what I know there are 100's of anti-Epic Games groups on Steam that are consistently voicing their opinions against it without being silenced.

Dude, stop being silly. Why would they require a "console war paragraph" in their TOS? They have every right to delete content they consider worthless, controversial or for whatever other reason.

And yes, when you use words such as "alarming" and suggest some sort of infiltration by Epic etc., it does qualify as a conspiracy theory.

No idea why they don't touch other Anti-Epic nonsense and I don't really care, it's not my business. If you want to participate in such platform wars, please. But don't act so surprised that this sort of topic attracts the dumbest people. Steam is doing everyone a favor by rotting this nonsense out, for any side.

Why would they require a "console war paragraph" in their TOS?- Well if you word it like that there isn't.
It's basic TOS like no abuse or harassment of any kind.
and by no means is my review a console war of any sort. I just my shared disatisfaction with the fact that I have to wait upto a year+ to play games on my preferred platform. I didn't announce genocide on anyone.
and I wish you a great day ahead and we shouldn't argue any further :)
I'm taking a chance to see if anyone else had something similar happen to them, if not then I'll close my thread in a bit.

"Fuck Epic"
"Big $ Chinese Funded Companies"

Yeah, you did absolutely nothing that would be typical for a console war. ;)

Big $ Chinese Funded Companies

You've really shown them -.-

Btw your review text is hidden as it is currently banned.

Yeah man I wrote that without putting much thought behind it just saying. I never expected it to take off and get banned for whatever reason it did. I can't edit it or make it any better or accurate because I've been banned.

I don't think Epic Games as a business cares much for a review posted on Steam. Using bots to report bomb them is more effort than I think they would put in to, well, the searching for those reviews to bomb at least.
It's probably just some Epic Games fanboys acting on their own.

Yeah I never stated that as a fact. I'm just puzzled at how quickly it went down after being put up again. If it is fanboys it has to be a couple of hundred going at it for anything to be triggered resulting in it being banned again.

Also: Steam moderation and support is outsourced and I'd imagine people working who knows where being paid who knows what(minimum wages probably) don't give a shit about complaints of a single user harassed by a band of bastards.

This makes the most sense, I'll just wait a bit more and take a chance to see if someone had a similar experience as me and close the thread.

Yes, Tim himself sent these people after you. Trust me, I spoke to him right now. Come on man, you can't be that...ummm...challenged. It's just people who don't know how to process that others might have a different opinion from them. So sleep soundly, because papa Tim won't come to clap your cheeks during your nap.

After reading that twice I think you're the one that's challenged.
Seriously are you 12? because it's to imagine a grown man behind a keyboard saying things like "papa Tim"

All of these nonsens reviews, which says nothing about the game and only about the publisher, should be banned... like review bombs because of some TOS.

I see nothing in your review relevant to the game itself. But hey, congrats on all those Steam Awards.

I am 1000% against the fact that there are people adding you to harass you on Steam. They must have very dull lives. I remember posting a negative review for A Hat in Time because the game is unplayable on mac unless you are able to use keyboard and mouse to play a 3D platformer. I am not. It says "full controller support" and they still haven't put a warning on the store page that controller support is non-existent on mac. Windows fanboys were adding me to harass me. One of them even attacked me for being "rich." LOL! I'm not rich. Graphic designers don't get paid well in this country (when compared to cost of living), unless you get a really good in-house position. He was jealous that I can afford a macbook that I've owned for 6 years or more. LOL!

I do see why you might get reported though. Fans of the actual game might feel that it's not right to give a negative review to a game that you clearly haven't played just because you're mad at Epic. They don't have to be Steam fanboys. Reviews are not meant for voicing your political opinion over whether you like or dislike exclusivity deals. That's pretty much an abuse. I hate exclusivity deals personally, but I wouldn't give a game a negative review over it. And at the end of the day, it's just a launcher, not an entirely different platform. If you wanted the game badly enough on your PC, you'd just get it. Wouldn't you? But if you must, go and voice your concerns in the game's forum if you want to address the issues surrounding exclusivity deals. Don't downvote the developers hard work because you're salty.

you don't like exclusivity but i bet you have a load of games only available on Steam - am i not correct?

tbf that's a pretty dogshit argument. Steam exclusive games do not sign a contract stopping them from selling on another storefront for a year. If those devs want to, they can sell anywhere they want. Epic games that go exclusive can't.

You missed my point, Steam wouldn't buy exclusivity to have the next Borderlands game on their platform only for a limited period by paying off the devs. I'm against the act of a company knowing actually what they are doing, by paying large sums of money to devs to release sequels exclusively on their plaform for a limited time and not any other. Giving people no choice but to buy it there.

Look, if shit hits the fan and some of these other PC launchers like Epic take off, Steam will start doing it to save their own bacon. It's just business. I don't get this "Oh Steam would never do..." because if push came to shove, they totally would, and why not? Sometimes you just have to play the game to survive in business.

They're not doing it because they're alright. They don't need to. Not so far anyway.
