Backyard Cricket Rules

What are your Backyard Cricket rules.

Our street has a game against the lane down the block and we were wondering if anyone had any other good sugggestions or modifications to our rules please let me know..

If this seems an inapropriate topic for these firums then let me know.

My Streets rules are:

  1. Over the fence and out
  2. Gets stuck on the roof out
  3. If the ball is caught off the roof then you are out
  4. Causght with one hand after one bounce then out
  5. Break a window and your team is out

As well as the other normal cricket rules.

We used to play one hand off the window (if it didnt break) on the full.
Hitting a higher window (i.e. upper body area) auto-out.

That sounds like a good one, thanks, might emply that stratergy for all windows. Any reason higher windows were auto out?

We play with all of those rules except that it's one hand one bounce off anywhere, including the roof/fence etc.

We always did retire after 50. No-one likes a bat hog.

Also very smart, We aren't usually good enough to get the far, or we get bored and just give up and go do something else

Never was a cricket person, or really for any sport. Of all the sports I know of, football (AKA soccer) is the one I can put up with the best.
