I have an opinion about anything involving crypto which makes me stay away from anything involving crypto until I see something actually useful being done with it that doesn't also involve some sort of exploitation, scam, crime and / or making climate change even worse.

Yeah, I'm not gonna do that. 😆

If you're wondering how they can give away Wasteland 3: https://venturebeat.com/games/brian-fargo-would-like-his-robot-cache-to-be-the-steam-of-blockchain-games/
tldr
Brian Fargo is the founder of Interplay Entertainment, a studio known for role-playing games like Wasteland and The Bard’s Tale, and InXile Entertainment (Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera).
InXile Entertainment is also the developer and publisher of Wasteland 3.

I just read the article and their idea about the possibility to resell your "used" games can be nice. It reminds a lot of the console era in the 90s when my brother and I sold our old game cartridges to buy new ones.
It could be a good alternative to the grey market for people on a budget.

Bro! Earn crypto, bro! Don't just do it on your own (hint, you won't), but use our client to do it! Smarts smart idea that is.

I mean you aren't completely wrong, this is basically the same as casinos, gambling, the lottery, etc. It's the same with all currencies in the world. I mean, it is one of the biggest and longest pyramid schemes in the world, but so are all other currencies and methods of trading those other currencies. That's exactly how stocks work too. This is a problem with capitalism and it gets just worse in late stage capitalism which is what the usa is in imo.
Particularly bitcoin isn't bad, the problem comes with these coins(this one is IRON, which I never heard of, for an obvious reason), which are referred to as shit coins or alternative coins. These are bad yes. It also has to do with who owns, how much, when, how, etc. and how it's being used or sold to others.

Honestly, I don't get it. Idea to allow reselling is nice, but it absolutely does not require a blockchain to be implemented. I've read comments here and seems that many people are strongly against blockchain (I'm not. Blockchain is just a technology, and it has it's legit uses). Especially since they still want to have full control of it. So, they use decentralization technology for a centralized service... Just why? They hope to ride the wave of hype around cryptocurrencies?

i don't think people are against crypto as much as they don't want someone else profiting off their machine with 0 going back to us

It does not looks like this store has anything like that.

From what I read: They give 85% back, only as store credit though. Currently mining isn't even possible, but they might make it available again.
Edit: Also it's optional, you don't have to use their built-in miner.

i have tried these mining sites with using your gpu and cpu like salad before and i could have earned only but a few £££ per day at the best if i used it 24/7 totally not worth it

But why would anyone give them 15% is beyond me. You pay the energy bill. This is not SETI at home, the single purpose of this 'function' is to make money.

I totally agree with you about reselling ability. Steam could even do it and give a little money on transactions to game studios like they do with trading cards but it doesn't seem to be lucrative enough.
I think they try to attract people with money they could generate with their miner. Epic attracts people with games but these are chosen by Epic. Robot Cache proposes "free" money to spend on games you can choose. It doesn't seem to be a bad idea but it really depends on how fast you mine cryptos.

i doubt it would be faster or than others of this type but also would people really want to start up yet another pc collection of games (a lot of which they already have)

They take 15% of everything you earn. This is just his way of trying to get rich quick while he scams all his users. Avoid. Just because he has some rep in like 1990 doesn't mean he's not a POS now. If they were honest about this, they wouldn't even take 0.1% of everything a user earns. 15% is a scam.
This is "entrepreneur" capitalist logic 101%. Provide basic functionality that would reward your user 100% of the work somewhere else if they were to manually set it up, take 15% of every single transaction, steal millions of people who are already far worse, repeat, ..... profit? Tell others you're a hard worker, make claims about how many people you helped, call yourself "self-made millionaire" and say that others need to work harder to get where you are at.
