Activision Sale on HB. The first COD games are one of my favourite FPS games ever, but I keep wondering, why the hell are so expensive. These are games that came out a decade ago or so. This is not a rant, just wanna know from you guys if they are overpriced due to today standards (MGSV is 19.99 on Steam e.g.). Like to know your honest oppinion.

P.S. English is not my first language....

F*** U!!! Call Of Duty is f****** sacred!!!
Dunno, don't care

Yes, CoD games are overpriced, but the plebs buy them regardless, so there is zero incentive by Activision to ever lower the price of what is slowly becoming their only source of income (as Blizzard releases a new game once in a blue fucking moon).
As for worth it… honestly, the only thing that made them stand out at the time was how on-the-rails cinematic they were, with very little actual player control. Granted, it is the industry standard now (except for games which still know what "gameplay" means, see Doom 4) and compared to that, CoD 1-3 are almost frighteningly loose on the player's leash, sometimes letting them go as far as two entire minutes without a cut-scene or scripted event happening.
If you have the nostalgia factor and want some of the better games of the, honestly, unexplainably large WWII FPS flood of the early 2000s, then go for it. Those 10 bucks are pretty much standard price for games of this age, only in this case you won't really see anything better until Activision bites the dust. Again.

I was discussing this with my brother just now, people will buy them easily at full price. That bothers me personally as I'm living outside the US and 19.99 is not cheap, and 50% off on a sale is not enough for me to buy them. Thanks for your comment!

They are overpriced as hell. Half of the games that are being sold atm are dead (multiplayer wise) and yet they have a 20$ price tag. I don't even see a point buying them even if they go below that, as a sequel is released annually and all of the playerbase shifts towards the newer one.

Not only the COD series is expensive, it's because of Activision. All their games are overpriced, even the older ones. It's part of how they do business, by keeping the prices higher as possible for the longest time.

If you're going to buy a cod game, make it COD 4, WaW or BO3 since those 3 have high modding support to let people make custom maps.
