It is his parents duty decide that, not mine. Good recommendation... Downloading! Thank you. :)

That old argument again? I was playing the original Mortal Kombat (plus Doom) at a younger age than OPs acquaintance.
I turned out fine. A game is just a game provided you aren't stupid enough to think you can do the crap in reality.

Given the kind of games he plays I'd suggest Alien Rage: Unlimited and I, Gladiator, though if I had to pick something according to his age I'd choose Trine and GRID (either the first one or the second one)

GRID seems to be too simulator in this case... but I thought in NFS titles. I'll check what I have available in my uPlay. Thanks!

Homefront: The Revolution? The Evil Within? SUPERHOT? HITMAN? RYSE? Valkyria Chronicles, Broforce, Remember Me, Deus Ex: Human Revolution :3.

The Evil Within is a good one! It reminds me that he said something about Resident Evil 7... Good one.

If you have SOMA or anything like that, try that too. Even better if you have Outlast. And make him play that LOL.

Oh Outlast... I really want to play it but in the middle of the night. I may download that for late hours. Thanks! :O

Bulletstorm is on my wishlist... I am the onw who will love it haha.
Didn't think about classics because kids today is all about graphics...
I'll think about a good classic later. Thanks!

Shadow of Mordor is already installed! Also the first two games of Batman franchise. Thanks! :P

Borderlands might be a good one... but isn't it too complex for just one evening?
Comment has been collapsed.
What is complex about go to place, kill everything, collect loot, collect reward? If you mean about all the guns and skills, all BL games can take any kind of builds and equipment on the first run, you only need to actually invest into thinking it through on NG+ types.

I saw a review video once that youtuber said that there's a lot of RPG elements and stuff...
I'm not really into the RPG world, but when I heard the word "RPG" I quickly presume that I'm dealing with something complex. xD
I think the same about Fallout series (specially the latest ones). Never had a chance to play it though...

Bullshit, Borderlands is a shooter. There is no RPG in it. Just some idiots think that if you have a random loot and some kind of experience point-like thing, it is a role-playing game all the sudden. There is nothing RPG in this, you just collect jobs that all do the same: go to some place, kill everything, then go back and collect reward, always following a big flashy objective indicator. The fun is in the fights and collecting the loot. There is a lot of loot in it.
Think of Diablo but as a space western FPS.

Of course there are still RPG elements in it. You still have to decide what kind of build to go for and where to invest your points for skills etc.
And then shoot a lot of things

Dead by Daylight could be fun to play co-op or even solo

I'm going to check these 2D titles in the last because I already have a Raspberry Pi here to emulate the classics :P

I have the whole Metal Slug serie on my Raspberry Pi with lots of other games...
That's my Plan A. If he doesn't like the ultimate classic console collection, I'll go to Plan B: modern titles. :P
Sniper Elite might be fun... I like that. Thank you!

This will probably more than a life to have fun with them all. xD
Good recommendation for a long time though, almost forgot how much I was interested to play Skyrim when I had a PS3...

Isn't the Quake Open Beta on now?
Give him the keyboard and mouse and let him experience pin-point accuracy (or get his ass kicked) ;)

I would like to see how he handles a mouse and a keyboard..
That's probably the best way to convince him never go back to consoles. xD

Too long for just a casual evening. Thank you though! :P

Just this evening... and I totally agree with you. xDDDDDDDD

Who of us wasn´t "too young" when he first played DOOM? Truth is we all loved it right? So show those demons what hell is really like. Can´t be worse than beating up hookers in GTA V :D
So sad there isn´t a modern Duke Nukem game to recommend. DN 3d is still great but the graphics would be too outdated for a 12 year old boy.

I still remember getting my first DOOM game... The cartridge snes was red! xD
Actually I have both 3D Duke Nukem (Time to Kill and Land of Babes) on my Raspberry Pi which was the best vs. EVAR.
Thank you very much for your suggestions! :D

Injustice is a good one. I'll try to download if enough time. Thank you! :D

Downloading Rocket League... Looks nice indeed.
The 2D coop I'll let to the Raspberry Pi with my infinite library of retrogaming. :P
Thank you!

For an evening, you have more than enough games. Out of the 3 you are downloading, Doom gets my vote.

Thank you! Now I'll finish the download if Steam connection helps here...

I'm not sure yet because it is my first time playing with him... Looks like I also need to know that. xD

If all else fails, just show him the Sakura games and others he can only get on PC ¯\(ツ)/¯

Bad Rats is the most suitable game for this situation. Gonig to download that. xD

Hi, I would like to ask SteamGifts community... What games I should have installed here to impress/entertain a console kid?
He is 12 year old and, as far as I know, he likes GTA V, Mad Max, MK XL and Call of Duty franchise.
I'm already downloading DOOM, Dying Light and Dragon Ball Xenoverse.
What games do I have that you guys recommend in this situation?
Quick giveaway til he arrives in 6~7h... Space Run Galaxy :D
