Borderlands 1, July 2nd, 2011. Added on 7/2/2011 There are 9 other games from the same year of 2011 but this is my oldest. Why is it wishlisted? Because believe it or not, but the first Borderlands game, had a free to play weekend, just one time i believe, and you bet your ass i played it and i loved it, enjoyed it, but unfortunately, couldnt afford it even up untill today, alongside the other 750 games in my wishlist, hence why i am here, its either the hobo way or the pirate way, i used to be a pirate in the 2000s and early 2010s, but i dont know why i no longer am, guess the 2013 tragedy just changed everything for the worse. But yeah, i think thats how i was introduced to the series when it was just a single game, heh, i still disctinctely remember some moments like finding a realy satsfying revolver and other cool guns, proggression with random pew pews was sweet.

This "couldnt afford it even up untill today" thing is a bit of a stretched out lie considering you're sitting on all those cs2 cases. You could sell 1 single of your glove cases($17 atm btw congrats) when there's a steam sale and get multiple copies of BL1 xD. More honest reason is you already played through it and want to spend the money on something else.

Beggars can be choosers. Why just the other day a homeless man threw back the vegan sandwich I gave him and cursed me out saying some crazy things like "I'm not homeless" and "how did you get into my backyard". Mental health is a serious issue these days, tsk tsk, very sad.

Ori and the Will of Wisps but only because I am waiting for a period I will be in a good enough mental space to play it. I learned my lesson from the previous Ori game - good but depressing af.
Actual oldest - Nier Replicant. Waiting for that 70%+ sale

The Otherside: Realm of Eons
Delisted in most regions including mine so long ago that it has no price history on SteamDB, and then later the last few as well.

Yeah I thought it was pretty great. Not some masterpiece but some reason I convinced myself that "If nintendo would make consoles with power Zelda would look like this" - it was, and still is, pretty stunning for PS4 game.
I did 100% it too. Found forbidden west PS4 on trift store while back but its such chore to start playing on PS4 again (ok im just lazy to start new games)

Fun question! Resident Evil 6 for me, added it before it came out in 2013 and then never got it because, well, it's Resident Evil 6. I even got it in a Humble Bundle once, and never activated it, but I can't bring myself to remove it after all these years.

Its a visual game of an IP I had always been curious to watch and/or play; but never had made the finally desicion to finally get it while on sale as I'm not fully convinced but its worth it or not; yet I cant bring myself to remove it, since I did purchased a game I had on my wishlist for the longest time, late last year.

Not really, it’s all about rights and restrictions.
I’d the game can be purchased through a supplier that got the rights to supply certain goods to a certain country, then no other supplier can do the same.
Example - Sonico (and nep) goods in Japan are sold directly, and have physical copies of games as well. This over-rules digital copies.
Another example: Madman has rights to distribute anime DVDs through NZ and Aus, and so in a lot of cases you couldn’t stream those shows through crunchyroll due to the regional rights holders.
That’s putting it simply, but it’s all about control.

Now that makes more sense, and reminds me the situattion of Dragon Ball Fighterz livestream tournaments being shutdown post its 1st year because of issues with Toei; but they were fixed few days/weeks after. Its still a bit strange the country of origin for those games, have such restricctions for digital adquisition; but the physical one seem to be one of the best for videogames on the entire planet. I think you can still buy brand new SNES consoles and games on Japan, original hardware and all.

Fable III
Guess it got delisted the next february because games for windows live sucked and didn't work properly and there was no point in buying it when there was a sale for $4.99 if it wasn't gonna work.

looking like dead cells with an added in 2020 tag... one of a few games that survived my purging the wishlist and adding things back(I was splitting my trade only wishlist and stuff I would consider buying on sale wishlists)
guessing I picked up most of the other old stuff by now.

DARK SOULS II 4/25/2014
As you know, it's a title with a high level of difficulty and not easy to get into.
While I kept putting it off, Dark Souls III and Elden Ring came out, so I bought those instead.
However, I really love this series, so I'm waiting for it to go on a deep sale.

Thimbleweed Park, added in 2019
It's a point and click with great reviews. I played the free spinoff episode and liked it, but nothing grabbed me strongly. I didn't love it so much that I had to have the game while having a backlog to get to. If anyone has played the main game, would you recommend it?

Probably The Medium. Is a game I fell in love with after watching a gameplay before creating my Steam account.

Royal Alchemist 2020
They refuse to do a steam sale higher than 40% off and when I look for new games to buy, I sort by discount first during sale periods so I keep skipping them for other titles.

The oldest is Deadpool a.k.a. "unavailable item", but the App ID is still visible if I hover over it; added on 13th July, 2016.
At this point I'm just keeping it there as a memento, I'm never getting it.

Starting to think it's been abandoned as it's been so long.

Outer Wilds....I thought I would get it when I feel secure and positive about life. Unfortunately, that point hasn't come yet.
My initial goal was Quantum Break, but i got it thanks to SG. Heck I recently held a GA for it.
I know this artificial goalpost is nonsensical. So hopefully, one day i'll either win it, maybe buy it or I'll most likely remove it from WL and--

The oldest one I still have on my wishlist is Planet Centauri, which I added to the list by the end of 2018. It looked quite interesting and reminded me of Terraria. I've been waiting for it to get out of early access, but I'm still not convinced if it is worth going for. As it goes for the rest that aren't on the list , I've bought some and I removed those I didn't think I'd be interested in anymore.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Added 7/23/2014... 6 days before it released on Steam! I've put this one off so long that there is now a full-blown remake on the way....
I love JRPGs and I thought this looked promising at the time.... Hooboy, did that turn out to be an understatement! I didn't think I had the time to play it when it first released, and then it seemed like every time I turned around there was a new game in the series releasing. I got intimidated by the potential time commitment if I got invested in the series and kept putting off picking it up. Sure, I had played over a dozen Final Fantasy titles, several of them multiple times through - but that was over the course 30+ years....
Eventually I caught a free weekend for Trails of Cold Steel III (which is the 8th game in the series, I think), and thoroughly enjoyed the few hours I put in despite not knowing what the hell was going on with the story. After learning that the Cold Steel story arc wasn't a direct continuation of the previous games, I decided to jump in there. I recently finished CS1... and it really made me want to go back and catch up on the whole series, even though I'm not sure I could get through them all in this lifetime!

Trails in the Sky is so good!
100%'ing them is agony, though - there are seriously way too many locations you can never return to without warning, or one area is open for one sequence, which gives no indication you can go explore. I started Trails in the Sky 2 and got super frustrated because I missed a book, therefore ruining my shot at 100% early on. There was a room in the inn you were using that was always locked, but only during the night, there was an emergency you had to run downstairs was the ONLY time you could enter the room, but after you went downstairs, it was inaccessible. Quit then and there, but I'll get back to it eventually.
Make multiple save files.

Fortunately I'm not a completionist. I'm usually satisfied if I get through the main story. That's still going to be a huge amount of time if want catch up on all the Trails games, though.

Added it when I was into the games like Bastion at the time, if I remember.

Apparently "Trials Evolution: Gold Edition" since 3/21/2013, had no clue, seems like I've had it just 1 year+ the time I had this steam account xD
Guessing never got it because other games came up, other bundles etc and just didn't end up collecting it as it happens with a few others. It's still there because I still have some interest, so may eventually get it, like 2033 xD

Thirty Flights of Loving since September 13, 2013. Mixed reviews that mention it being pretty short, and I originally added it when anything I played on Steam was for a potato laptop that chugged trying to run flash games. So even though it regularly goes on sale for under $1, it's just not something I'm prioritizing. Still weird enough that I can imagine trying it out one day though.

It used to be Project Zomboid, wishlisted some time in 2015. Although I played it before it was on Steam. Remove it from wishlist in 2023 when I cleaned up my wishlist and realized it being in early access for 10 years.
Now it is Death Road to Canada Added on 2017-06-26. Lovely game, first heard about it during a Co-Optional Podcast, and it stayed on my wishlist ever since. Had plan to buy it, but I told myself I should play what I already own before I make new purchases. (I still haven't played the first game I bought on steam after 10 years - Assassin's Creed Revelations - Gold Edition)

I recommend adding Project Zomboid back to your wishlist.
While it's true that the game has been in Early Access for what feels like an eternity, the base game is nearly complete and is still receiving frequent and ambitious updates.
It's a highly recommended title.

Honestly, it's a sandbox game, so I don't really see the logic in viewing it as "complete" or "incomplete" as long as it continues to receive support and the content is substantial.
Would it be more worth purchasing if it left early access a long time ago without any of that content, but had a nice wrapped bow on it? I don't think so. I think it's way better that the game continues to be developed. 1.0 is just a version number. A way for the developers to say they feel like they've done enough.
Besides, it could be worse. They could sell DLC while still calling the game early access... like Ark...

Date added, not release date.
Mine is from 2018, used to have multiple 2016 games but I thought that its been so long I probably never going to buy it anyway.
As for why..
The oldest one, Ghost of a Tale seems interesting enough to keep track of, but not quite yet to add to backlog. Plus now that I found out it was free somewhere I kinda lost interest slightly :P
And for one of the games, despite being from 2019 (added 2018) https://store.steampowered.com/app/820630/Metal_Wolf_Chaos_XD/ has barely gone on sale. I guess because "It says fromsoft" on it. Lowest price is ranging from 8-10€ for OG Xbox game. Eeh.
