Date added, not release date but who am I to judge, if you've waited 30 years for game to come back as digital game go right ahead!

Mine is from 2018, used to have multiple 2015-2016 games but I thought that its been so long I probably never going to buy it anyway.

As for why..
The oldest one, Ghost of a Tale seems interesting enough to keep track of, but not quite yet to add to backlog despite seemingly cute/unique setting. Plus now that I found out it was free somewhere I kinda lost interest slightly :P

And for one of the games, despite being from 2019 (added 2018) Metal Wolf Chaos XD has barely gone on sale. I guess because "It says FromSoft!" on it.
Lowest price is ranging from 8-10€ for OG Xbox game. Eeh?

Late edit: Looks like I missed one from 2015.
EITR .. used to be pixel souls-like with shieldmaiden. Was unique decade ago. Now...not so much. Dont think its coming.

Borderlands 1, July 2nd, 2011. Added on 7/2/2011 There are 9 other games from the same year of 2011 but this is my oldest. Why is it wishlisted? Because believe it or not, but the first Borderlands game, had a free to play weekend, just one time i believe, and you bet your ass i played it and i loved it, enjoyed it, but unfortunately, couldnt afford it even up untill today, alongside the other 750 games in my wishlist, hence why i am here, its either the hobo way or the pirate way, i used to be a pirate in the 2000s and early 2010s, but i dont know why i no longer am, guess the 2013 tragedy just changed everything for the worse. But yeah, i think thats how i was introduced to the series when it was just a single game, heh, i still disctinctely remember some moments like finding a realy satsfying revolver and other cool guns, proggression with random pew pews was sweet.

This "couldnt afford it even up untill today" thing is a bit of a stretched out lie considering you're sitting on all those cs2 cases. You could sell 1 single of your glove cases($17 atm btw congrats) when there's a steam sale and get multiple copies of BL1 xD. More honest reason is you already played through it and want to spend the money on something else.

I cant sell those cs2 cases. Those are CSGO cases, carried to CS2, they havent been there for that long, just a few years or so and such, i played the game once or twice a decade ago when it had a one or two free to play weekends, i couldnt afford to buy CSGO just like i couldnt afford to buy TF2 until it went free to play, or CSGO went free to play, i have bought only a few games in my life okay? And with what money? My mommy's money, i dont earn money, never have, never will, i will be on the streets when my folks are gone cause no one else will accept as useless fuck like me. Anyway, those cases werent there when Borderlands was out, and they arent enough to buy everything i want, and i cant sell them, i have to pass them off to my brother who is keeping tabs of how much i got, and i havent used that money for anything because i dont know what to buy, there is maybe like 20 games i want out of those 750 games, cause the thing is, initialy i have a interest for the game and i want it, but then years go by, decades go by and my interest is lost and i no longer want them because i didnt get them the whole time. 1 glove case is 17 dollars? Thats roughly 17 euro or something? I dont know when to sell them, they just keep rising in price so im just holding. No, i wont get multiple copies of BL1, i dont want it anymore, its old, im old, my interest is dead, i want something else but i dont know what, theres very, very little that i actualy genuinely would like to have. No i havent played trough the game, how can i play trough it if i dont own it? Huh? Spend the money on something else? As soon as i figure out what, yeah sure, besides gta 6, only because i want to play with other people the multiplayer, not the single player, even though my pc will not be able to handle it just like it cant handle the free to play weekend for tarkov arena, i dont know, i just dont know.

"No, i wont get multiple copies of BL1, i dont want it anymore, its old, im old, my interest is dead, i want something else"

That's what I pointed out. It had nothing to do with not being able to afford it, but with you not having enough interest in it anymore. Part of the point was that just a single one of those cases would be enough to buy you the game multiple times during a sale. But you said you can't afford it, which was a lie.

Don't stress it it's not that big of a deal, but it would've done you no harm to just be honest about it straight up. You could've said "BL1, played it a lot during a F2P weekend and I don't got enough interest in spending whatever little money I got when I'd prioritize something else." and I wouldn't have noticed the contradiction in your op.

For reference, your cs2 inventory is worth $194.97 checking as of right now. Borderlands went on sale last year for $2.99 and $4.99.

Uhm, yes it did? Youre telling me i can afford it when i cant. A single case can afford me multiple copies of it? No it cant, i cant immideatly on the spot, at this moment, convert those cases into money, i cant sell anything, the market doesnt let me, i have to give everything to my brother to handle it and hold onto my case money, i myself on my own, cannot afford it. No it wasnt a lie, i have 24 cents on my account, that cannot afford me the game, im not lying, you are. If its not a big deal, why are you hounding me about it so hard? I am honest, what are you talking about? Do i litearly have to send you a screenshot of my wallet balance? But i did have interest in it when i played, now for years i dont. And i didnt have money back then, i got those 5 lats, transfered into 10 dollars i think it was, around 2010 or so? I forget, but i bought killing floor, gmod and tf2 premium with my moms money. I dont remember if i had any priorities back then, i didnt say i wanted anything else or other things, you cant say that i contradicted when i never said any other game. So i have 194 dollars in my inventory that i cant do anything with myself, okay, cool, let it keep rotting away then. I dont care about your borderlands sales, i wanted it back then, now i dont much so. MY BROTHER can afford it, I CANT.

I don't get what kinda mentality is this. You could've specified you can't use the market because you haven't added any $ to your steam wallet or spent any money on the store in like 1 year or whatever. Alright fine, you're locked that way. Are you going to lie to me that you cannot sell these cases on one of tens of websites that have been live for x many years now that buy cases for currency, which would then enable you to do so?

"I dont care about your borderlands sales, i wanted it back then, now i dont much so" Just say this dude, stop saying you can't afford it with $200 in your inventory. You could trade and sell your items for it. There is no reason you can't afford it, except mentally you made the excuse that you cannot touch those cases because they're locked in place. Which they are not.

"If its not a big deal, why are you hounding me about it so hard? I am honest"
Because it doesn't affect me negatively if YOU have to lie, I just find it pathetic that instead of being honest you're locked in a closet of "oh I can't do this or that because I just can't" without a REASONABLE explanation as to why you can't and then you quadruple down on it. Reasonable would've been, your account is banned hence why you cannot trade those items hence why they have no value. Are you overwatch banned because you cheated? Say so then, but you've indicated you're keeping them maybe they go up in value, maybe you give them to your brother, etc., so they appear to be sellable at some point in your life if they go up in value, and they appear to be tradeable if you care about their monetary value. So likely you're not overwatch banned.

If that's not the case, then those items hold value. They can be traded and sold for currency. To say I CAN'T afford it, while sitting on $200 is the equivalent of a vegan that eats meat willingly but is still a vegan in their mind because that's what they are. It wouldn't make sense, and anyone with a bit of reason would question that and say well it doesn't make sense, because you can choose to not eat meat, but you choose to do so yet you call yourself a vegan which is a lie. Your situation is exactly the same. You can, but you choose not to through whatever means you make that possible. Hence why, the definition of that is a lie. I'm not calling you a liar, you are a liar, unless, and the only exception to this is if your account is trade/market banned.

Heck assuming you aren't banned and you wanted to do it right now without waiting for the summer sale so the game is on a discount you could borrow $5 to get your steam market activity, sell the cs stuff for the $195 or whatever - taxes likely around $150 lets say, buy borderlands for $30, and then pay the $5 debt to start the market back, and you'd still have $115.

I've quit playing WoW because it became repetitive and lost it's original charm to me. I don't refer to it as "I can't monetarily afford to play wow." Because I can afford to buy a lifetime worth of wow subscriptions. I just don't play it because it got boring and I already experienced pretty much everything. Maybe it's a language barrier where "I can't afford" means something different in your language, like along the lines of "I don't want to play it anymore" like you said before so maybe the same words mean in your language mean two different things in English.

I also don't understand why your brother can afford it but you can't. I'm guessing because he's market unlocked and you aren't, except you have ways around that like I spoke of above, and since it's your brother and he can afford it, you could speak to him to load $5 in your wallet and you gift him a game, enabling your market and then you could use it too. Doesn't seem like you're in bad relations if you see a possibility of giving these cases to him for you to get the money, so the other way around should work as well, without you having a debt.

I believe what you are trying to communicate is "it is not worthy enough for me to get it anymore". I can recommend google's ai to help you understand the differences between these phrases:

""Cannot afford" means you don't have enough money to purchase something or do something. It implies a lack of financial resources. It can refer to being unable to buy something (e.g., "I can't afford a new car") or being unable to do something due to financial constraints (e.g., "We can't afford to take a trip this year"). "

This wouldn't apply to you in this case, as we discussed, because you do have the money available to purchase this.

"The phrase "not worthy of buying" can refer to a few different ideas:

  1. Not worth the cost or price: This suggests the item is expensive for what it offers, or its quality or value doesn't justify the price.
  2. Not meeting expectations: This implies the item doesn't live up to what the buyer expected, either in terms of functionality, quality, or appearance.
  3. Not aligning with personal values or needs: This means the item doesn't fit with the buyer's priorities, or they don't genuinely need or want it."

This would apply to you.

Maybe this whole thing you said in your first reply about "I got no money, I'm useless, I'll never have anything, I'm living off my mommy, I'll never work a day in my life, I'm a leech irl, etc." is a way of life to you and it upsets you when I pointed out that you do have something, likely many things, because you were aware of it and you are looking forward to the cases going up in price if they ever do but didn't want others to notice you like that. Like is this some attempt at trying to be cool by pretending to live a life of cynicism following on Diogenes ways? Because I don't think you really get it then.

Don't misunderstand, I respect you not getting a game you got no interest in anymore and I'm not telling you to get it, but the affordability part seems out of the question based on the data you provided. I think this is enough of this nonsense so I'll end it here unless you provide me some new data to go by that would explain what would actually prevent you from being able to do the scenarios I listed above, otherwise I hope you take care and figure it out because I myself am bored to point out that saying you can't afford something while sitting on multiple times the value of that thing is a lie. It's comparable to a doctor saying they can't afford to buy food anymore cause the prices are going up while driving a supercar. :)

Now that makes more sense, and reminds me the situattion of Dragon Ball Fighterz livestream tournaments being shutdown post its 1st year because of issues with Toei; but they were fixed few days/weeks after. Its still a bit strange the country of origin for those games, have such restricctions for digital adquisition; but the physical one seem to be one of the best for videogames on the entire planet. I think you can still buy brand new SNES consoles and games on Japan, original hardware and all.

I had it in my wishlist for a very long time, big fan of Monkey Island and Ron Gilbert, but the game ultimately felt disappointing. It's an ok PnC adventure game, but it has yet another meta ending with plot holes. So your assessment is fairly spot on, it's nothing special, an ok game but with a bad ending (if you can call it that).

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky. Added 7/23/2014... 6 days before it released on Steam! I've put this one off so long that there is now a full-blown remake on the way....

I love JRPGs and I thought this looked promising at the time.... Hooboy, did that turn out to be an understatement! I didn't think I had the time to play it when it first released, and then it seemed like every time I turned around there was a new game in the series releasing. I got intimidated by the potential time commitment if I got invested in the series and kept putting off picking it up. Sure, I had played over a dozen Final Fantasy titles, several of them multiple times through - but that was over the course 30+ years....

Eventually I caught a free weekend for Trails of Cold Steel III (which is the 8th game in the series, I think), and thoroughly enjoyed the few hours I put in despite not knowing what the hell was going on with the story. After learning that the Cold Steel story arc wasn't a direct continuation of the previous games, I decided to jump in there. I recently finished CS1... and it really made me want to go back and catch up on the whole series, even though I'm not sure I could get through them all in this lifetime!

Trails in the Sky is so good!
100%'ing them is agony, though - there are seriously way too many locations you can never return to without warning, or one area is open for one sequence, which gives no indication you can go explore. I started Trails in the Sky 2 and got super frustrated because I missed a book, therefore ruining my shot at 100% early on. There was a room in the inn you were using that was always locked, but only during the night, there was an emergency you had to run downstairs was the ONLY time you could enter the room, but after you went downstairs, it was inaccessible. Quit then and there, but I'll get back to it eventually.

Mixed reviews that mention it being pretty short, and I originally added it when anything I played on Steam was for a potato laptop that chugged trying to run flash games. It used to be Project Zomboid, wishlisted some time in 2015. Although I played it before it was on Steam. Remove it from wishlist in 2023 when I cleaned up my wishlist and realized it being in early access for 10 years.
Now it is Death Road to Canada Added on 2017-06-26. Lovely game, first heard about it during a Co-Optional Podcast, and it stayed on my wishlist ever since. Had plan to buy it, but I told myself I should play what I already own before I make new purchases. Honestly, it's a sandbox game, so I don't really see the logic in viewing it as "complete" or "incomplete" as long as it continues to receive support and the content is substantial.

Would it be more worth purchasing if it left early access a long time ago without any of that content, but had a nice wrapped bow on it? I don't think so. I think it's way better that the game continues to be developed. 1.0 is just a version number. A way for the developers to say they feel like they've done enough.

Besides, it could be worse. They could sell DLC while still calling the game early access... like Ark...
