Bing is awesome, basically the same thing as Google but Bing has given me over $100 worth of gift cards for just using it and recommending it to friends so Bing is the obvious choice for me.

(I say $100 because that's how much ive wasted on myself but ive also traded some gift cards on Steamtrades so I don't know exactly how much money they've given me lol)

Bing is not bad if you like the way it is set up i find the searches on there to be on par with with what Google comes up with and sometimes i end up finding better results. The same can be said for Google it is great just for fast and simple searching and sometimes comes up with better results then Bing.

Either way this is like saying what is better console or pc your not going to get a beats all answer as both have pros and cons

In the end they both do searches and they both due it well though Bing does offer you a chance to earn a bit of cash you could use for stuff,Google had something like that but i do not think it ever made it out of beta before it was canceled,so you can not knock Bing for that as Google tried but failed at it or gave up for whatever reason.

You need a both option as that what i would have selected as i use both

Except with console vs PC what is at stake? Slightly different graphics/control scheme? Yeah. With Google having near monopoly, stakes are far higher, especially in democratic country with privacy laws. Google already can disappear what it doesn't like from the net and builds dossier of every user based on their searches, YT and Gmail usage - things that can do huge harm in bad hands.

If you use Chrome or fiber on top of that, you have absolutely no privacy - would you be ok with someone standing next to you and looking at your monitor and keyboard whole time in real life? If not, why we should agree to monitoring in virtual space?

To be fair, so does not only Google but Apple as well, but it you want to pay extra for pretty logo and privilege of bigger dose of spying it's your problem, really. Just don't be surprised when your iPhone data leaks.

Well to be frank i will never have to worry about the apple or iphone as i never will own any of those over priced turds,

This discussion was about which one people used, not which one was more evil then the other.

I used both for searches and found that the results where pretty much the same. That was what i was sharing, not which one watches me more or what not.i could care less if they are watching what i search for,i just hope they do not find out the midget porn

As far as privacy that is so over rated nothing is private anymore due to the internet and how things are stored, all you can do is takes steps to try as much as you can to keep things private.

You took what i said about consoles and pc way out of context,i merely meant that with consoles vs pc there will always be someone to say why the pc is better and someone to say why the console is better, regardless of the reasons or facts. The same with which search engine is better, there will always be a you to come around talking about privacy or whatever reason they think which one is better

If you don't want Google to build a dossier on you, don't be logged in while searching. Also, your ISP knows everything you do online, or your VPN provider if you use that. And let's not forget the NSA. There isn't really any escape from it.

Historically, Microsoft has proven itself to be evil when in a monopoly position, while Google has had a good track record so far, so I know who I'm sticking with.

Bing is better for porn, but that's still not a good enough reason for me to use it.

I actually like Bing for finding new wallpapers or pictures. Seems like I find ones that dont show up when I search the same thing on Google. Not sure about regular searches though.

I greatly prefer Google's results, but I also use Bing daily to earn my points. I seem to get a $5 Amazon gift card about every 3 weeks. You can also earn points using a smart phone, which speeds it up.

If you do end up joining Bing, you should use someone's reference link. It will help them earn bonus points and it won't cost you anything.

When did bing get refer links? Or have I been oblivious to them the whole time lol.

I think you meant the US, because I get "This feature isn't available yet in your country or region" and Canada is still part of North America AFAIK.

Sometimes I do a search on Bing by mistake. When I don't find what I was looking for, which is most of the time, I do the same search on Google and find what I wanted in a matter of seconds.

Well… this. Whenever I tried Bing, the results were abysmal. Google may have a huge monopoly, but it's not just because people are used to it, but because it is still a lot better than any competitor. I'd like to use DuckDuckGo or Bing, or heck, even Yahoo, but those three combined still cannot come even to a fraction of the accuracy of Google.

Due to my job and my degrees before it, i have studied so much about Google.

I can safely say that Google is by far much much better than Bing at every aspect. It's like comparing Steam with Desura. No much.

Hey I'm Daemien. Now you know someone who uses Bing and gets paid to use Bing instead of Google. lol every month i get $5-$10 for using pretty much the same thing as google with a much prettier user interface

You misunderstood my point mate, i'm obviously talking about friends and people i know personally. Of course there's people out there who use it otherwise it would have been gone by now. Also good for you that you get paid but you miss the point on that one as well, only you peeps NA get paid to use it, the rest of the world does not so the rest of the world generally does not give a shit about Bing :)

And no, it's not the same, as many here pointed out already it's not as good as google and i'd hazard a guess that if you guys in NA were not getting paid to use it most of you would probably be using google like the rest of the world.
