speedy = less than 1 hour, you can simply make it private, when the timer is like 30 minutes left, make a thread and post it, or post in a random thread...
secret = anytime you want, randomly post it anywhere, people who get to see it, will have a chance to join it.
puzzle = at the very least 1 day for easy puzzles, 4/5 days tops for very hard puzzles.

It all depends on your views. All of them have their purposes.

Depends on the game at stake. If it's low cost, it's not as worth puzzling for, but makes for a better speedy, since the regular ones are likely to get a good amount of entries. If it's high cost, a speedy is more likely to torment anyone who had something to do in that time frame and still rack up a ton of entries.

Speedy giveaways, don't like spending a lot of time doing riddler-eque games to prove my vastly superior intellect just for a chance to win the game.
You should all give up, you already know I'm better than you.

Puzzle giveaways are always nice, because you can feel like you really earned a chance to enter. That being said, speedy puzzles can be a lot of fun, provided they aren't too insane (although, there is nothing like a good challenge...well, except for another challenge that is equally as good, or a better challenge, but I digress...)

Puzzles are more fun because of the payoff when you break the code or riddle, but Speedy giveaways allow people a greater chance to win, so they both have their merits.
I think Puzzles should last at least 12 hours, with longer times for harder puzzles. Speedy giveaways should be up for less than an hour to reward people for finding it speedily. :3

Puzzle, all day erry day. So much more satisfying than clicking a button at the right time.

I find it depressing that so many people like speedy giveaway... Personally, I despise 1-hour giveaways as they keep me from ever getting sucked into a game, I always have to remind myself to check the front page every hour at most. I'd love it if the minimum duration for giveaways got increased to 12 hours, or at least 8.
Also, I would very much like to see an increase in the number of puzzle giveaways. The thrill of solving a puzzle, combined with the thrill of entering a giveaway with relatively few participants, is much better than the thrill of having found a short giveaway, combined with the annoyance of having to think about this site all day.

What do you prefer? Speedy? Puzzle?
What is the ideal timespan for a giveaway in your view? (regarding normal, speedy or puzzle giveaways)
