Thanks for the giveaway and happy birthday to the little one. With my own kid turning 5 in Oct, I've found it gets somewhat easier as time goes on. I was really happy to ditch the giant bags of diapers, the giant stroller, the giant car seat if we were taking taxi (by law here), the bottles...he's more independent and of course the "I can't believe he made that connection" events never cease to amaze.

I do love how I can just pack a few toys and a change of clothes into our portable booster and get on with it, not spend 30 minutes getting everything including his lunch ready into a duffel bag. Btw, highly recommend trunki boostapak once Aurora is 4 or the right height for boosters, if you don't use your own car. A car seat and backpack in one.
What's your kindergarten issue? Mine is complaining about going, most often. I don't think he realizes he would just get moved to a different school with different friends. I am clearly too entertaining, gotta get him much more bored at home so he welcomes the release of activities, haha.
I am impressed with how quickly all the kids just got used to the masks. They wear em all day at kindergarten (by law, again), they just get on with it. I was reading a book to him about cow and duck opening a restaurant and serving spaghetti with worms, once he saw the giant crowd of people screaming and running from the restaurant he asked "hey, why are they not wearing masks?"

Aurora, remind me of Maleficent's daughter, what a beautiful name.
Happy birthday to her and wish your family all the best π

Happy Birthday to Aurora! Such a nice name too! :) I am happy for you!
I am not a parent myself (yet), but i can relate a bit. You see, my mother divorced when I was 10 and later She married again someone else. I already had a younger sister and a brother. From her second husband she had two children later (one of them had his birthday just yesterday, which is funnily at the same day as my sister's birthday, only with a 12 year gap). Without going into detail, the situation got complicated and the second husband was mostly away, practically left us in the end. Its oversimplified, but detailing would be too personal and too lenghty.
As a result, I had to help more, taking care of my youngest brothers. They were around 1 and 4 years old respectively at the time.
It was trying, even hard and uncomfortable at times and I cant help but feel that I should have been more patient with them on occasions. Granted, I was at highschool and uni, so my attention was not always undivided. But I loved my little brothers, their well being was of outmost importance to me and I also wanted to be a good example as the oldest man in the household. It was a bit like a step-father role.
Your words ring true, even resonate. Its hard and stressful, you have to be very, very attentive and think a lot in advance. But its worth it. There are plenty of joyful, kind moments too. Its a special kind of happiness, watching children grow and learn.
I wish You and your family all the best!
