1- I should be able to see message although giveaway is deleted

I'm fairly certain comments are deleted along with any giveaway which contains them.

2- I shouldn't see any unread message notification because I can't see it anyway :)

When I made note of this myself, I was given the answer that the current design of the reply system is designed to minimize site load. Thus, all we get is a +1 reply counter that toggles whenever a reply is made, with no direct checking of actual replies to determine reply count. So it's not a bug, it's just a design decision that makes it so that any time a giveaway is deleted- whether due to being deleted directly or due to a giveaway deletion- the database doesn't end up having to get edited just to give a single user a more accurate inbox alert count.

Given that comments are not-too-uncommonly made in accidental reply to the wrong user, or are determined to no longer be worth posting [eg, when another user already posted a similar reply in the duration it took you to write yours], it's a fairly common occurrence to get an alert with no new reply showing when you click on it.

As Sooth mentioned above, here's the post. There's a script you can download to "fix" it, but I don't remember which one. This thread has all of the scripts
