Wow ... Delta actually is pretty active on the forums and what kind of answer were you looking for anyway?
Also leecher? I don't think so, she/he has a little over a 7:1 Give:Win ratio.

Sarcasm does not go through very well on the internet ... I know this from experience.

It's not you, it's me... reading too many dumb comments. Just came back here from a thread where someone was basically trying to force a game out of someone and thinking he was being nice and understanding.

On October 2, 2003, Valve CEO Gabe Newell publicly explained in the HalfLife2.net forums the events that Valve experienced around the time of the leak, and requested users to track down the perpetrators if possible:
Ever have one of those weeks? This has just not been the best couple of days for me or for Valve.
Yes, the source code that has been posted is the HL-2 source code.
Here is what we know:
1) Starting around 9/11 of this year, someone other than me was accessing my email account. This has been determined by looking at traffic on our email server versus my travel schedule.
2) Shortly afterwards my machine started acting weird (right-clicking on executables would crash explorer). I was unable to find a virus or trojan on my machine, I reformatted my hard drive, and reinstalled.
3) For the next week, there appears to have been suspicious activity on my webmail account.

NOOOO ... I have been lied to ... my life ... is ... meaningless! D;

Looks up the meaning of schadenfreude ...
Okay, first off. The stuff I "grill" you about is way more obvious than what he posted. Also, given the context, Night could have actually have been insulting Delta for his seemingly troll-like answer. Thus meaning his threats of blacklist could have been real. Another point is that the Night claims he isn't active in the forums and therefore would not really know Delta's behavior/status making the possibility of what he said being true even greater.

might have something to do with people posting them at the same time

Nah it's not the case :p Those don't bother me at all. I'm just a bit weird when it comes to repeating stuff for no reason ^^

People want to be heard. Even if their opinions are the same.
Next poster please repeat ;)

Because, might have something to do with people posting them at the same time. People want to be heard. Even if their opinions are the same. I've already reached level 5, but I like potatoes.
:D
ya you know some one had to do it. :D
Awwww someone beat me to it... :P

That explains it! Colour blindness. You can't "red" previous comments if you're colourblind.

First: If a thread is posted and the first X answers are the same it's probably because (as CrazedAnimal said) they are posting them at the same time. You can't see newer comments, unless you refresh.
Second: Would you read through 10 pages of comments before posting your own? I don't think so.
And third: People want to be heard. Even if their opinions are the same. (are you happy LittleBibo1? :D)

Not talking about posts done at the same time. Talking about posts that have too long of a time gap between them to qualify for that. Or ones that get replied to a post that answers their exact question... somehow not noticing the answer... probably because they just replied randomly in the thread without reading.
Where's the quote function when you need it? ^^
"And no I'm not talking about topics with 20 pages of comments... I'm talking about topics where there's 6 posts and 4 of them basically saying the exact same thing for something that should only take 1 answer"
But yes I do read most of the comments before replying. That's why I said it shouldn't bother me as much as it does. If I wouldn't read comments ahead of me I wouldn't notice that.

Confirmation from several people giving the same answer it better than just one or two. Makes it more likely that that is the correct answer to the asked question.
Also, not everyone may have time to read every single comment in a thread before posting their answer.
Other times it may just be ignorance of the other comments. For example, I read through a thread and reply as I get to comments I want to reply to, usually finding a few comments down the exact same thing that I just said because I had not yet read those comments.

Yeah that's the part that bugs me... I'm not even sure why it just does :p

I also think that duplicate posting is helpful when people post poorly thought out suggestions in the suggestions topic. It helps reiterate why it's a bad idea.

Open tab -> do other stuff -> come back to tab and post -> end up making the same reply as 6 other people -> oh well
Comment has been collapsed.
I rather comment a "+1" or some variation of it in the comment that said what I was going to comment.

Personally, it happens because I open multiple threads in multiple tabs, and go through them and leave replies. By the time I get to the last ones, lots of people have already posted, but it doesn't show on my page. After posting, I realize it but I don't bother deleting my reply.
[EDIT] Also, I have the habit of skipping some posts without reading them. I'm here to post, not always read every single replies. :P
And sometimes I just want to voice my opinion my own way - I see +1 comments as a lazy way to reply to a thread, unless it's a simple answer which cannot be said any other way. For example here, I see that SCHUMI4EVER said pretty much what I wanted to say, but I didn't necessarily like the way it was said. I like writing, so I like my posts to be written to express my exact feelings or reactions.

Well, remember when someone says the right answer in class? Everyone repeats the same fucking thing because why not, they want to be cool too. People feel better when they help, even if they don't help at all tho. That's the human nature, it stands right after greed. You can't fight it, people will always be the same dickheads just wanting to bring themselves some joy and attention.

I believe this man has lost faith in society. ;D
I understand though, that's how my classes went. My teachers literally disallowed me to answer questions so other kids could do it. (Which they never did because most of my class hated school and didn't want to participate because they believed it was a waste of time.)

I'm not a very active member on the forums here but every once in a while I start reading a few topics. This probably shouldn't bother me as much as it does but I can't help getting irritated when I read comments and find basically duplicate posts from different users. Why do you people not read the previous comments before posting your input? And no I'm not talking about topics with 20 pages of comments... I'm talking about topics where there's 6 posts and 4 of them basically saying the exact same thing for something that should only take 1 answer. Is there a prize for posting that I don't know about? Or why do some of you feel like saying the same thing the person above you said is necessary?
