As far as are know all the available SG phone apps are unofficial so you're probably better off asking in the thread you got it from and talking directly to the person who programmed it.

I also got the same error but different number after "Community".
The app has been working fine for me for years. It's been great and a lot more pleasing to use than browser on mobile device.
Tried on 2 different phones and both on WiFi and mobile data
From the error displayed my guess would be that Steam changed their API or something. Would be a shame if the app stopped working. 🙁
For those who didn't know, the app is available on F-Droid. Last update was on 2021-01-12

I got a new phone last month and had the same problem, minus an error code. After about a week it started working again.
The error code does make it a little more concerning but unfortunately wait and hope is still the only option.

Some people here are saying that the app has been dead for the past 3 years but i've used it last week and it was 100% ok.

the f-droid "sg" app? it's working, I'm replying to you from it now, it's unsupported and i've had problems with it a few times, just downgrade and upgrade versions until it works

on f-droid there are 3 versions? i tried the last 2, 1.5.13 from 2021 and 1.5.11 from 2018. Haven't tried the oldest one from 2017 (1.5.10)

1.5.11, i think it's the latest one. A couple of times I had a blank screen with no giveaways, i tried reinstalling it, then downgrading and upgrading to specific versions, sometimes it worked but sometimes it kinda fixed itself after some time
edit: so i stayed on the penultimate version, it usually has a brainfart when sg updates the site/database/API or whatever, happened to me the last update

I think maybe the in-app browser is too old that it cannot show the login box correctly? I have same issue and I don't have idea of what's the actual cause :(

Hello guys, I can confirm that my app has also stopped working. I have used it for years although it has not been supported much. It is not allowing me to sign in, I am getting "cannot read properties of null" error.

It still works for me. My guess is it could be about Android updates. I'm still on 11. The app doesn't get updates for a while so something new in Android might broke it. Though I don't have Google Play, so it might be related to that too, instead of new Android.

I think you're right. I was running Android 11 until today when I flashed my phone with a new ROM and am now running Android 13. Now I get this error, never had it before.

It's possible that the app has problems with Android 12+ and needs an update since there were some big changes with 12. My guess is it just needs the new version of webview but there could be more. Well, at least it's open source, maybe someone will fork it.

Used the app for years. Bought a new smartphone with Android 12 and installed the app from the PlayStore. Worked without problems.
Found out there is a newer version on F-Droid, had to uninstall the old app before it was possible to install the new version. Not working because I can not login to Steam.
Uninstalled the new version, installed the old version and still not possible to login.

Looks like the issue is that the WebView the app uses to login (only the first time) does not work properly with the new Steam interface. Nothing we can do unless someone modifies and rebuilds from source
