Gift copies will always be way too expensive. The game has been bundled before so you might find a Steam key on Steam Trades for a bit less. However, still going to be quite expensive.
Your best shot is getting a retail copy from Amazon or something (this won't activate it on Steam).

Don't buy from G2A if you want to be sure you get a working key that will stay with you forever. Had some games I got from there get revoked weeks later. They are grey market key resellers.

I will strongly advise you to buy it fast who knows how many copies they have. Already 3 people including me bought it so it will be kind of sad for you to find out they have run out of stock, because bunch of people bought it just because its cheap.

Hmm...I'm in Canada and had no such delays...so I have no idea why you aren't receiving them quicker. Is your Paypal using a verified credit card...? I really can't think of anything else it might be. Also, does the transaction show up in Paypal as funds sent?

Hmm.. Maybe it's just me. My Paypal is verified and the payments are in "Pending" section. It says "Your payment method will be charged when Simply Games Limited completes your order." I'm having trouble understanding because I know my funds were transferred instantly but they're having delay completing my order?

I just assumed the US would be on the list...kinda weird that it isn't if Canada is. So yeah, a fake address would for sure cause processing issues then. I've never before seen countries limited in this way for sales of digital goods...it's inexplicable.

tbh there are many games I'd like on STEAM which I probably never will get... for instance - Stubbs the Zombie, looks really good (if not a bit repetitive), was removed back in 2011/2012 I think, haven't seen it anywhere except normal PC copies.
Real shame that developer's take there games of STEAM :(

Nah, I have this since nearly a year ago and never needed to contact steam for anything. When you run the game it generates a key for you that you input inside the game.

As I said, steam gives you a cd-key which you can then redeem in-game. The key displayed is not the same key used to activate the game.

Okay I found some pertinent info regarding this from another user, who mentions...
I received a new key within 48 hours.
For all the others having the same issue:
1) Go here: https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php
2) The best thing is to attach a screenshot from the activation menu where you can see the key you entered (so they won't ask you whether you typed in the key correctly, which can delay the receipt of your new key ) and of the error message that your key hasn't been found in their database.
3) The new key works for the Securom activation, but not for the GFWL activation. I needed to enter the "old" one for that.

UPDATE #1: Well this is the reply I just received back from Steam Support...it seems like they no longer fix this issue themselves and now I worry that a huge run-around is about to begin...

Oh man...
First i contacted steam-support, but they told me they can't help me. Then I tried to manually activate it on the SecuROM website, but it did not work. I contacted secuROM-support but they told me my key it not in their database and that i should contact codemasters. Now codemasters asked where I have purchased the game and if i can provide proof of purchase. We will see how this ends xD

UPDATE #2: Codemasters promptly sent me a new key for the game and I can now play it, yay : ) So props to them for sure here, they have fantastic customer service.
Note: I would strongly recommend providing proof of purchase beforehand if you're gonna contact them, as it will probably expedite the process much quicker.

I finally got my key from codemasters and can play now :)
But it would be interresting if we all got the same key. Steam support told me that they have only one key in their system (the one that's not working) so I guess we all got the same from Codemasters. Did you get the same key as me? (I relaced some fields with a _ in case we did not get the same key xD)

Thanks for your reply! Too bad. That means that really everyone who wants to play the game has to contact codemasters in order to get a working key. Hoped that I can give the key to a friend if he wants to get the game, so that he doesn't have to contact codemasters himself.

Well, as the title says, I need FUEL.
My car's running fine though, prices are pretty good these days. What I am looking for is that racing game made by Codemasters that let you race cars across a giant map, always plowing through dirt and mud while keeping an eye on your gas tank. It was a really cool concept and a lovely game to play. I use to own it for PC back in the days when i t was new and GFWL still worked, but around the first quarter of 2010 I accidentially shredded the disc and couldn't get it installed again. I didn't bother much about it since the game wasn't that exciting for me anymore by then, but just recently I discovered it again and I instantly felt ashamed that I never tried to get it back. Because by now it's gone from all online services like Steam or those other sites that let you buy games, e.g. IndieGala, GMG, Humble Store, whatever you could imagine.
This made me really sad to find out, because I am more than hyped for this game by now, no matter if GFWL works or not, I mean, there's Tunngle, right?
So what I managed to find out is, that some people actually kept gift copies of this game in their steam inventory, and some might even have ways to still acquire it. I don't know. But I would pay anyone who could get me this game, no matter if it's via Steam or just as a legitimate purchase from wherever (no Torrent shit obviously).
