I would file a police report and tell them you're scared for your life because he threatened to kill you. Once he gets arrested and thrown in jail for 10 years he'll be telling himself "I should have just kept the ban".

Depending on what state you're in making threats online through a chat or email, or through a text message can get you 10-20 years.

So lets say he get arrested and put in jail for 10 years, you now know you wont die for at least 30 years and by that time you probably wont want to live on this planet any longer so it would be doing you a favor.
