42? As in, the answer to the question of life, the universe, and everything? Dang.

Edit: Lewis Black was actually my second guess. I Googled "old jewish male comedian" and found a Wikipedia category Jewish Comedians. There were only ~200 names, a third were women, and many were dead. I just picked out the relatively famous ones that fit going alphabetically, first Woody Allen, then Lewis Black.

Had all of them except Lewis Black. I was using that list also, and was down to S... I even visited Lewis Black's page, but apparently didn't enter it as an answer. Pretty fail I suppose. Would have had it 30 minutes ago. xD
