Nah, you're right- yelling* at strangers without proper consideration of context is DEFINITELY the only way to convey information on the internet. I mean, that just checks out. *ie, possessing overly loud volume, which in this context would just associate with 'addressing a large audience'. Caps lock may be the cruise control for cool, but there are still alternative options.

Moreover, as an interesting consideration, if the user in question (or even just others in the community) decide to take the post above negatively, then the post above would theoretically violate SG rules on "calling out" and could get moppelmurks suspended for a couple of days.
General rule of thumb for SG, you can only negatively reference someone if they already brought up the topic themselves or otherwise agreed to discussion of the topic, or if the negative reference is based in the individual's role as a public figure (eg, as a developer). Typically staff doesn't go overboard in determining what is "negative" but, given how unnecessary this necro was, maybe they'd go along with suspending for it this time, on account of it also being spam. :P
[To be clear, I'm neither saying staff will, nor should suspend on this, I'm just bemused at how blatantly inappropriate this necro was.]

That's not really on us as individuals, though; A sizable portion of the community has been after cg for years to add auto-closing [eg, after 6 months of complete thread inactivity, with the OP still being able to reopen the thread even after that] to the site, in the same manner as the majority of forums out there.
