I know, don't know what's wrong with their site. Here is a link for Amazon https://www.amazon.com/MSI-GT72VR-Dominator-Powerful-i7-7700HQ/dp/B01N6L9S7U

I don't think I will need the other M.2 port. Also GT73 has thunderbolt and is able to switch from discrete to dedicated graphics. While Gt72 is locked to the 1070.
BTW what do you use thunderbolt for, is it a must have specially like in a year or two will miss having it?

i doubt it will be a must have really at any time, but yeah it's most significant use really would be the external gpu upgrade like you're talking about. but tbh, unless you are 4k gaming, i don't see the need for a gpu upgrade within the average lifespan of a laptop like that. i'm running on the asus gl702vm with only a 1060 6gb, and i have the thunderbolt port on it, but doubt i'll ever use it. i also have never used the type-c usb port either though.

hmm that sounds right to me. I guess it would be better to go for GT72VR with 128GB for $1799 and upgrade it to a Samsung 960 pro for about $100.

They both have the type-c but some reviewers said that thunderbolt is disabled on this one.

It is still cheaper for me to buy it from there. Along with 400 total for gt72vr would be around $2300. If I buy it here it would be some $3400.

Before you buy it, i suggest you to read this:
First
Second
Just want to aware you about possible problems you might have, I have GT72 2QE myself, already had this problem after 1 year of using. Seems like hinges are really weak and no matter how carefully you handle a laptop, you will have this problem anyway at the end :(
But, i must admit laptop is amazing and everything satisfies me except this problem you might encounter!

For me, I'm not sure about electronic importing..., prefer to buy it onsite or local retailer
I prefer to use asus brand for notebook, heavy use, +-12 hours/day, so far happy with it, my first is acer - not recommended, poor hinge, second and third from asus ^^

I am looking to buy a laptop, unfortunately I can't build a PC as I need mobility. So I have narrowed it down to MSI GT72VR 7RE or MSI GT73VR 7RE
I would be importing either of them from US to India so here are my questions regarding it.
I can order it from Amazon and the will charge somewhere around $300-$400 to deliver which includes the cost of shipping and import duties as well. If anything goes wrong it is their responsibility as well the return cost for 30 days. Other option is to get from someone who is coming from US the downside here is I have to wait for them to come, I won't be sure if I pay anything extra as custom duties if anything goes wrong within 30 days I am left with RMA also I will have to leave the box to take extra precaution I am not charged extra customs.
Which one should I go for, GT72VR or GT73VR, only difference is thunderbolt 3 port, better CPU, 4 RAM slot and 1 extra M.2 slot in the latter, other than that GPU and screen are same in both.
I checked excaliberpc.com they are offering a upgrade from 16GB(2x8 2400MHz) to 32GB(4x8 2133MHz) is it worth the upgrade, I feel more RAM is better than the speed atleast with 2400vs2133
So what do you guys suggest?
