Neighbors 2 houses down my block were just robbed. It might be their fault though, because 20 people live there and they always leave their door unlocked.
Lots of cops there now, and I was asked if I know anything about it.

Contact steam support, and nicely ask them what could be the issue. Do not accuse them of stealing money, because as it looks right now, it was not them that took the money.
Don't expect a reply for at least a few days though, with 20+ million people their small suppose staff is overworked.
