Then you'll get a message on steam with a notification that the key has been revoked and you've to mark it not received here.
No other risk i think.

I can verify what the others have already told you. It happened to a friend and I. The game disappeared from the account of the giveaway winner some months after she had installed and played it, and we had to sort it out by buying a new copy of the game for her. In the meantime, she was able to mark the game "not received" to prevent any charge of non-redemption.

Yep same here.
Bought a cdkey from a site we all know once.
Less than a month later I got an email from arena net saying the key was bought with a stolen creditcard.
So yeah nothing will happen apart from whatever u got not working anymore :P

it did, several times. Not through this part of the site though, it was by trading in a steamgroup, before i really knew anything about trading. They revoked the keys, got a message on steam and thats it.

To you ? Nothing much ... you will get the game removed from your account and thats pretty much as far as it goes in most cases .
Ofc if it happens multiple times in a short period of time you may get some issues , but i had that happen several times , including with gifts and i just got msg that the game was removed from my account and that was it.

Keep in mind tho , that steam wallet codes being revoked is a much more serious issue , and you can get your account disabled for that ...

Steam doesn't sell KEYS and officially don't support any trading related to that, so pretty sure they couldn't care less, quite the opposite. Similar story with gifts. If it charges back, it will be just removed from your account and you'll get a message that such game was removed because whoever gifted it to you didn't purchase it legally. You had nothing to do with the purchase so why would you be punished. The last did happen to me. Also, as Sa6peto mentioned, if you getting games removed several times then it will attract some attention to your account.

yes, i've had one of my wins removed from a chargeback. i just notified the gifter inside the giveaway and changed feedback to not received. i've had a couple non steamgifts related ones removed from my account as well. it's honestly no big deal. ;)

If you win a key that gets revoked, do contact the giveaway creator as well, and let them try to fix it. I've traded for keys in the past, and the vast majority of them have worked, but there has been instances where a key has been revoked.

I remember that from time to time ppl complained that steam support gone crazy and blocked their trading (obsolete now isnt it?) or ability to add new games to account.

Ofc there was to way to prove one way or another if such keys were source of problems since steam support refuses to disclose any details.

You just have to love when they can say "Fuck you" and give no explanation whatsoever.
