Nvidia shield tablet k1 sd card troubles

I recently purchased a Nvidia shield tablet k1 that came with a pny 128 Gb as a bundle. I tried it out today and I am running into an issue. The tablet is not recognizing the sd card at all. Does anyone have any idea what could be up? Thanks

I'd do the opposite, format the card through the tablet. Also just a guess, though.

When I put the SD card in it isn't recognized by the tablet so I cannot set it up :\
