He offered to give it away for free, but would like it if someone offered him something (aka maybe if 2 people wanted they'd have to go up against each other)... He isnt explicitly asking for a trade, but portraying generosity. Your comment is fairly pointless.

You obviously didn't read what he wrote. It's random or if someone offers something, as in if no one offers anything it'll go to someone random but otherwise not.

If this was allowed you could just as well skip the whole no-trades policy, as anyone would say that they want to give something away OR trade it.

HUGE fan of the Diablo series, and PoE looks promising as well. D3 beta tester here, but just got bored of it, not enough content to keep me interested in such a small beta.
