It's a personal qualm with the lore and overall how they did most of the characters. Mostly the lore because fuck Bethesda, they messed around with it too much. The end was horrid

I'm with you on this, Beth didn't care enough about Fallout lore, and their world feels uninhabited. Obsidian, on the other hand... <3

Well, NV was made by the people responsible for F1 and F2, which set the bar, and ruled out the lore. Bethesda made F3 without digging too much into material, so it severely lacks sarcasm, satire and lots of lore. Even their world was not very thought through. I can't find it now, but one guy explained in great detail why NV world feels much more logical and populated. Examples were that in NV every settlement has some kind of gardening going on, and toilets are pretty common, as you might think. In F3 places were created simply like game levels, without thinking too much about purpose or logic. (Megaton was cool, but hell, what did they eat? ;))
Quests in NV are much more appealing to me, even though they mostly are variations of old "go to X, bring me Y" or "go to X, kill Y", but they are much better concealed, making it a better gaming experience. Characters are much more detailed from persona standpoint, and more memorable.
I don't think to bash at F3 - hell, I loved it when it came out )) It's just that Obsidian makes better Fallout games. IMO, of course ;)

And I still haven't finished New Vegas (Shame on me....but I'll return to it once I can uninstall most of those games I have installed, which I'll do when I've completed them).
But I'd love a new Fallout, hopefully with a new Game Engine.

Skyrim is the worst, 97% of the dungeons are straight lines, NPCs are worthless and that final battle, its so lame... xd
New Vegas has great quest design and some of the stuff you find is pretty cool, acctually my 3 were Oblivion, FO3 and Skyrim =P
