I have 18 giveways with positive feedback (~$80). ANd I'm still level 0

Giveaways for items that have been previously free at some point do not earn you any progress towards levelling up. Giveaways for things which have been previously bundled give reduced value. It largely depends on the things you want to give away as for how long it will take.
