it was a REALLY old Mario game, but i don't know the year... i think you started in a cave, i don't remember the second level, i think third was another cave, there was a secret, that if you keep on going right (leap) instead of going into the pipe, there were those blocks that fall down in some time if you stand on them for long, the start shaking and the forth level had 2 pipe-like tunnels that you can walk inside and 2 holes for the piranha plants to shoot at you, if anyone knows the game, or has ANY ideas, please tell me!

the forth level looked something like this: http://i.imgur.com/YfQp9n4.jpg (just made with photoshop)

the plants would fire up, then down, repeatedly, you had to jump and crouch

Please help, if i get the game, hours of biggest nostalgia in the world, thanks!

edit: http://www.auntiepixelante.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/fourtwo.png

the graphics were probably that, just that the goombas were probably brown

second edit:

Neros, it was on a pc, the really huge screen, old pc

to everyone else: i think it MIGHT have not been official, since i went through every version that wiki lists, it might have been a flash, but i still must find it, i think it had a time limit for every level, there was no map, but... i do for some reason remember the falling blocks that you have to stand on to fall to be very detail, i would find an example, but i do not know the real name of them

edit:

found the name of the block, it's donut block, it doesn't exist ANYWHERE for some reason! i don't understand this! i have found this in some really really really old files http://i.imgur.com/JwQ9jPy.png

this seems to be the closest, i guess that flash or something game really is unfindable anymore...

this looks like the most familiar so far! well, maybe not the sun rays, but still!

It would help if you could tell us what system you were playing it on.

If it had the graphics in your second link, it's either Super Mario Bros, or Super Mario Bros 2 (JP)/The Lost Levels

If it had sideways pipes and that graphics style, then it's Super Mario Bros 3

But none of those had a cave for the first level, and I don't think any had falling blocks.

SMB3 has falling blocks on 4th world, you have to stand on them for a couple of seconds and they fall.

Well, great. While searching youtube for your answer I got caught up in my own nostalgia. Super Mario Land (gb) and Super Mario Land 2: The Six Golden Coins :[

Well no official Mario game match up your description, so it should be a fanmade Mario rip off. Or maybe you're talking about the Wario Land series which is somewhat similar.

if it looks like the old super mario bros you're probably thinking of the pc port, as far as i know its bit different from the original.
but it doesn't start in a cave, the first level starts exactly like the original.
i think it was super mario bros. special

Oh god... the first edit's picture may be from Cat Mario... could that be it? Cat Mario doesn't really match the other descriptions.

doesn't really match 10 years ago neither :c and the level wasn't that impossible as cat mario, you simply had to jump and crouch

looks like i found the game, but not the levels.. i will try to complete it... for nostalgia, just to find those unrepeatable levels... sm3 mario forever

or.. maybe it wasn't that, maybe my hope shouldn't be lost... though... the menu and my graphic explanations are 100% the same... except the next window when you go right, it used to have the things somehow... differently, i think... but maybe not, still, the game i downloaded doesn't save for some reason, i will never be able to find out :c
