I suggest installing the trial version of the fences and seeing if anything goes wrong. It should have all of the features of the paid version. If you end up buying it and then experience issues you can contact their support and if they're unable to fix the problem you can request a full refund, so long as everything's done within 30 days of buying the software.
It's a great app, perfect for organizing your desktop and it has other nice features like being able to set a specific fence to "absorb" certain file type(s) as soon as they appear on the desktop. I tried several free alternatives and none of them came close to being as good so I eventually bought it and it was money well spent.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention. If you get trial and you're registered (I think registering for trial might even be mandatory) and use it until it ends, they might send you an offer to buy fences with a small discount near or after the end of the trial via e-mail. They sent me an e-mail with a 15% discount, not a big deal but saving 1,5$ sure ain't bad (that's a tier 1 bundle and a half right there!).

Thanks for the tip. Was thinking of this.....

With the discount code floating around can get a further 10% off, brings cost down to £3.23 i believe

If you like your desktop very tidy I can only recommend to skip fences and go straight to the masterclass: stop putting shit on your desktop. It's not a good storage place. Files should be in the download folder until they are sorted to where they belong, shortcuts should be in the start menu or reached through any type of quickstart thing like launchy or everything.
You should only ever use the desktop for anything if it'll stay there for less than a day. Say you have a temporary file that you need to paste things in to to move it to another file or something, or a packing list while you're packing. This you can put on the desktop but then it shouldn't be neatly sorted - the whole point is that it should stand out.
Of course your personal preference may be something else, but if you already like a tidy desktop you'll like an empty one even better. Trust me. Join the dark side... or light side... I dunno, depends on your perspective and wallpaper I guess.

To each his own. I personally can't stand the start menu and avoid using it. I neatly organized my desktop with the help of fences and I have easy and quick access (literally just point and double click) to all software outside of my steam library that I want the quick access to.
Having programs in start menu or launchy (where you have to type down the name of what you want to launch) is just needless hassle and a waste of time.

Hi All
I currently use DisplayFusion and Wallpaper Engine on my PC, both excellent pieces of software.
I am thinking of purchasing Stardock Fences as i like my desktop very tidy but reading some reviews there have been some compatibility issues with DF and SF in the past but cannot find any reviews that mention this over the last 12 months.
Does anyone use DisplayFusion with Stardock Fences? Do you have any issues?
Long shot but thought i would ask :)
Cheers
