Hay guys the android app is still broken after the major update of the site, is it going to be updated as well or not? :(

The android app isn't official, it's in no way connected to the site administration/development, it was just made by a random person. You should try to contact him/her via the app itself.

why would you need an app?

  1. Open browser
  2. Goto steamgifts.com
  3. ???
  4. Profit.

A smartphone app is way more fast and easy than the site itself :P

Except it isn't.
It has to send the same requests to the SG-server(s) and wait for the same responses, just like your smartphone browser

Except it is, I have to zoom in and out to click stuff like GAs ended and Messages, plus everytime I click on 'view attatched image' i open permalink / profile / reply.
As for faster as in speed, yea thats not gonna change.

I have no such problems on my phone, granted it has a 5.5inch screen.
But then again, I don't really use any website on the go.

Still, I don't think it needs an app, just some better CSS for small screen sizes, then.

Even with big screens and everything you want, a dedicated app is far better than have to open the browser and search the site everytime to open it. So i think it needs an app!

Maybe just Responsive Web Design instead of apps? It should solve most problems.

I agree. I prefer app too:) But i'm using WP8 now, and i'm affraid that no one will write that app for my OS:) And i don't have time to write it myself right now.
