Why won't anybody close them?

So i was looking for a thread and i realized that there are a lot of threads in which nobody replied in over two months...those threads made my work a lot harder since there is no advanced search feature for topics on the site either...:| So, what i'm asking is why aren't the threads automatically closed after...let's say a month since the last reply...? Why do they keep them like that?

They seem to be saying that in a few threads, I'm not sure why, or what they mean by it. Probably just some form of attention seeking.

Though we could REALLY use an advanced search feature, that would be something extra nice and extra helpful!
And yeah your point is right, why keep it open so much time when no new messages? After all you can still read them when closed.
