Another month, another strategy game! Since the first month people have been complaining reminding me about the lack of total war games, but fear not. Your time has come! Rejoice! lvl1+.No sgtools. You know the deal. If you're not lvl 1 yet, it's because you're not even trying. Go sell some cards.

About the game: Total War: Warhammer is a turn-based strategy and real-time tactics video game developed by Creative Assembly. The game features the gameplay of the Total War series with factions of Games Workshop's Warhammer Fantasy series. I don't have to explain what a Total War game is, right? Good, because I'm too lazy to do it anyway.
Btw, here's my favorite TW trailer. What's yours?

And of course, here is your ticket.

I'd like to seize the opportunity to also invite y'all to join our group for strategy enthusiasts and participate in our little community.
Just let me know in the comments below if you want an invite. Don't forget to tell us which strategy games do like/ have been playing / that kind of stuff :)

I'm not sure about favorite trailer but my most favorite strategy game of all time is StarCraft. In regards to TW, my favorite is Shogun 2. Played it lots but for whatever reason, steam never updated my time played in offline mode.

Haven't thought about the Total War series in ages. Still have the discs to a couple of them somewhere. Don't own Warhammer, so this looks very interesting.

Warhammer: Total war might well be the best Total War game I've played. My issue with the series has always been that the AI is very predictable, which makes the games repetitive, but the fact that the different factions in Warhammer are so different, well that helps alleviate this.

Use mods, Luke!

I've not found one that fixes the fundamental AI issues. There are those that improves the games greatly, but the AI still tends to be as dumb as a bag of bricks, even with the mods that are supposed to fix the issues.

Depends which titles you mean exactly. Personally I can recommend Radious AI for Rome 2 and Stainless Steel for Medieval 2 out of those I played the most, which gave the AI a nice overhaul. Sure if you're a strategy veteran you'll still beat the AI but at least you don't have the feeling it just wants to roll over and ask to rub it's belly.

I've not tried Radious AI, but Stainless Steel still had this issue that the AI obliviously just walked into my cavalry ambushes repeatedly

Yeah, but that's fairly realistic, too. Human generals aren't always geniuses, either.

Well, the AI should not play perfectly, but it should not repeat the exact same mistake over and over and over again,

Yeah, because humans don't repeat the exact same mistake over and over again. P

One thing that some strategy games have is different tendencies for different leaders. I don't know why that isn't used more often in wargames.

Not everyone does the exact same mistake in nearly exactly the same way

I got the impression that they tried to implement intentional "mistakes" in Rome 2, so this made the AI a bit less predictable, but apart from these forced mistakes, the AI was still doing the same old mistakes.

Damn, so many hours sunk into Medieval 2. Stainless Steel gave this game a second life for me after I got bored of quite shallow unit roster.

That was my choice as well for the same reason. Stainless Steel was an amazing mod

it's one of those famous shovelware discs with a bunch of demos and 1 complete game that were so popular in the 90s. You can probably find a free copy online since it's considered abandoned.
