Imagine working in a kitchen with 5 ovens, 8 heating lamps and a few dozens burners on. I never asked for so many night shifts

Well it's me i think not so much the steam deck, i had plans to use it in bed f.e but they also say how a computer screen is bad for you right before going to sleep so it usually turns out into watching some tv before sleeping. Also planned to use it as a emu station, but turned out to be more of a hassle to install then i expected.
And i just got way too much computer stuff, this weekend i am getting a tabletop arcade machine f.e.
No the screen (and the whole deck) was actually bigger then i expected, it's like a switch on steroids.
Also not that i am waiting for it, you can buy alternatives, but they are taking a very long time to come with an official steam dock.. They blame covid but that's been some months ago now.

Lot of sweaty people, that's for sure! I have never seen so many people in a kitchen drink so much that didn't have booze in it lol
It's not cold in the winter either, no. We have a state of the art kitchen with cool spots and thermometer checks everywhere but still, in the winter, we routinely get to 40+°C near the hot appliances. 45, even, in what we call the Devil Spot.
So yeah this week it's been up to 60°C.
Our exec is managing it very well though, making us rotate so we can take breathers even during peak service, sending us to cool spots, and taking preventive measures.
Can't wait for August when I take time off.

My new laptop has a "night mode" for that. Not like I sleep at night anyway lol but yeah I can see how the steam deck would be a problem in bed.

If that isn't bad enough, cats here left a goddamn flea investation, and then it's not handy to have carpet or hot weather.
And here i bought a steam deck, thinking to sit in the garden with it, only tried alex kidd, didn't work (couldn't get passed the menu) and basically gathered dust since (because why play on a small screen without a mouse when you got a big screen with a mouse).
/end rant. :}
