Question for fans/and who played before of GTA IV

Not really as them addons are different stories with different players from what I remember

It adds 2 different stories, with minimal contact to the original one

They're not "important" to Niko's storyline but the ELC games are great on their own. I think they're must plays espc if you enjoy GTA IV alone. They're basically mini GTAs, different characters, weapons, missions. Its a steal at 2.49 really. I paid full price for them on console when they were released and don't regret it one bit.

From what I heard the DLC is tons better. The main game made me a tad depressed when I played it, the main character is a super downer, but I might still get it for mods alone...do the same mods that work ok the main game work on the DLC?

Its not important for the story of nico, but it does show some background to other persons who appear in nico story, its pretty good dlc.
Also the stories in a way run side by side...

Nothing to do with a story, but i have enjoyed both of them more then the main story.
