I know there's already a similar open discussion, but I would like to know more about that topic if someone has info. Now, for me, the card drop rate for new games seems stuck! :(

Thanks, it's still broken for me I think, as several hours elapsed but nothing yet!

If your using Idle Master it might be trying to idle The Monster game,i had to black list it,so it would not keep trying to drop the cards for that.

After that i had no prob getting card drops from my games, minus the 2 hour wait period, just now if you have say 5 games you will have to idle each for at least 2 hours which translates to 10 hours wasted.

They could have done this much better but then again since when has Steam been knowing to do the common sense way, they just did it for all games and this way to make it fast and simple

If your Idle Master is up to date the monster game is on universal blacklist.

I just said it in case they did not update i mean i never bother to update it as long as it works the way i want

Though i did re-download it and still had to black list the game,so i do not know maybe i am just a idiiot

I could be wrong; I manually blacklisted before I updated so maybe there is another step to follow.

I had wondered why my mark of the ninja cards hadn't dropped yet

What happens if you finish the game in less than 2 hours?

Then you finished the game. Congrats?
Card drops aren't tied to your progress in game. It's randomized. So just leave the game on for the card drops.

I think that policy to avoid exploit card and refund..
So after u play or idle 2 hours, card will begin drop like usually
Its mean u cant refund that game after u get the cards haha

Is this for all games ? Someone gave me tabletop so I could play some games with them and it took 6 hours to get the 3 cards.

This is to avoid that people buy games, farm the trading cards and then ask for refunds

I imagined that!

This was the worst way to go about it though. They could have put it only on games you bought in Steam Store. Most cards people get are from bundled games and those can't be refunded anyway. Keys can't be refunded. But hey, it's easier to apply this restriction to all games rather than to those bought in Steam Store. Convinience.

it sucks. now it's like 3 times longer than it was before. and that's only for games with 3 drops. i can't imagine what will be length for games with more drops.

Yeah, it's terrible. I think cards trading will just die and it actually means less money for Valve lol. They are really silly.

I realize you're upset about this change, but how would this kill trading cards?

Having to run Idle Master from our tray a bit longer is not a huge deal.

I don't think it will kill it either. Might make prices rise a touch if enough people conclude it's not worth the time to make them drop through idling as we'd see fewer on tha market. . Also, all the cards that would have dropped when people quit games within 2 hours will no longer be out there.

I think many people will just stop doing that, especially those that have lots of games. I might be wrong though. We'll see.

It would be a good thing since the barrier to drops get higher and fewer cards will be on the market than usual.

I think you're getting it wrong, it's only 2 hours for the first card to prevent refund abuse.

so? it took me mostly bit under an hour to get 3 drops (most games), now it's 2 + time for drops. so for 3 cards it is 3 times more.
there was one game a while ago which took me like 7 hours for 3 drops, that was painful :D

If it take 7 hours now that means it would take 5 hours before, which is not 3 times longer :p

1487 card drops remaining

388 games left to idle

With the new policy, it's going to take 776 hours (32+ days) longer than it should have.

Daaaaaaaaaang iiiiiiiiit.....

SAM all of them, since two hours will never drop anything, then turn it off and focus on each game. Get drops every couple of minutes.

Steam Achievement Manager. Just open every game you want and idle them for two hours. Force close SAM and open it up again. Idle one game under SAM for quick drops.

yes, that. SAM on the first 2 hours, then Idlemaster.

Hmm, I just got two hours in-game and I got 3 cards after I left it. Meaning - did they change it so that after 2 hours pass all the cards drop AT THE SAME TIME at the 2 hours mark? Can someone confirm it?
